groom's mother chose a light
blue polyester knit dress and a
corsage of salmon -shade tea
roses.

Wedin Goderich
A lovely wedding was solem-
nized at St. Peter's Church in
Goderich) n August 18. Father
Moynahan officiated at the
double -ring ceremony uniting
Betty Lynn Sheardown and Er-
nest Anthony Parker of Lon-
don. The church was decorated
with baskets of mums and
daisies at the altar.
The bride is the daug er of
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Shear -
down, Goderich, and the groom
is the son of . Mr. J. Parker of
London and the late Kathleen
Parker.
The wedding music was
played by Anne Legg who ac-
companied the soloist, S.
Doherty who sang Love Story
Theme from Romeo and Juliet.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a full-
length gown in soft clouds of
white maracaine jersey.- A
beaded motif emphasized the

fire drills in the two weeks we
have been at school.
It takes the co-operation of
the teachers and students to
make a school as good as
Robertson. We have made a
good start. Let us try to con-
tinue so that .our yearwill be a
happy and successful one.

where the bride's mother
received the guests in a long
deep pink crimpolene dress
with full pleated skirt, and
shirred sleeves.
She was assisted by the
groom's stepmother in pink
peau de soie dress with a white
rosebud corsage.
For travelling to Lake Placid
in New York the bride changed
to a pale blue two-piece ensem-
ble. 0
The' couple will reside at
1100 Courtland in Kitchener
where both Mr. and Mrs.
Parker teach for the Waterloo
County Board of Education.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was feted at showers by
her staff at Victoria School at
the home of Norma Hutton; for

Ahmeek Chapter IODE

new Huronview van
The September meeting of
the Ahmeek Chapter, I:O.D.E.
was held at the home of Mrs.
"Wm. Auld, Essex Street, with a
good attendance. The meeting
was presided over by the
regent, Mrs. R. Neville, and the
flag presented by Mrs. C. Ruf-
fell.
One minute's silence in
memory of Mrs. Grace. -.Don-
nelly was observed, 'and the
poem "Crossing the Bar" was
recited by Mrs. Gladys Dustow.
Two visitors were present,
Miss Helen McCarthy and Mrs.
Hobbs.
Mrs. Neville congratulated
the members who had worked
on tag day, and_ remarked how
well they had done.
A letter was read requesting
help in buying the van for
Huronview. It was decided that
a donation would be given in
the name of the Chapter.
Mrs. Neville announced that
the Area Conference will be
held at Walkerton on October
17. Luncheon is at 12:30 p.m. at
$2.50 per per -cin. Those who
wish to go we asked to con-
tact Mrs. Neville before Oc-
tober 8.
The minutes were 'read by
the secretary, Mrs. F. Mills,
and. approved.
The treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. G. Henderson,
and accepted.
The regent appointed Mrs. E.
Overholt ss Echoes Secretary
in place of Mrs. Jelly who has
moved away.
Mrs. C. Cutt, Services
Secretary, reported on articles
for the bale which will soon be
sent. Mrs. Emerson is assisting
her.
Mrs.. •Auld, Education
Secretary represented the
Chapter at the graduation
ceremonies. at Robertson and
St. Mary's Schools, and presen-
ted . books to the students
receiving awards in Creative
English.
Mrs. A. Habel, citizenship
corivener, asked Mrs. -F.
Walkom to report on citizen-
ship court, which the members
found very interesting.
Public Relations Secretary,
Mrs. M. Holmes reported on
advertising done for the
Fashion Show.
Miss Elder as convener of
telephone committee, and Mrs.
O. Straughan, card convener,
reported.
Social and program 'con-
vener, Mrs. G. Henderson, an-
nounced that the October
meeting will be held' at the
home of Mrs. G. Dustow on Oc-
tober 1. Assistants will be Miss
Elder and Mrs. G. Henderson.
The meeting was adjourned,
and a cup of tea was enjoyed.

and Mrs. Auld.
