According to the accepted record, Dr. Hamilton was born in Cork, Ireland, in 1810. When he turned over his stable described as "near Carroll's cooper shop," he was 27. The cooper shop, now a residence, cuddles the A & P store, and On the site of the stable is Alexan- der Smith's house. Even earlier, Morgan Hamilton gets mention in local history. When Thomas Knee-. shaw in 1834 built a frame house, expecting to be married the next year, Dr. Hamilton requisitioned it for the 'first Anglican clergyman, Rev. R.F: Campbell. Hamilton evidently was a per.on of influence at age 24. It was in this year, 1834, that he bought Lot 16 from the Canada Company (and gave a mortgage back.) The c.c►mmissioners made a sharp reply to certain letters to the editor of "a newspaper published at Goderich Oh-, viously this was the Huron Signal, of 'which Thomas MacQueen was editor. I took off seven `weeks when our twins were born. My husband quit -his fifth job two months ago. He had made only a token effort to find work and now he tells me he doesn't care if he finds'anvthing or not. In fact, he's not sure he would• accent a position if it were of: fered to him. The competition of the business world, h,.e says, makes him nervous. , What he'd like to do is stay at home and take care of the children. Very voun,g ones, he insists, need at least one parent's guidance and since I'm gone from 8:00 a.m.–until 6:30 p.m. they aren't getting much from me. I hate housework. He loves it. And his cooking is terrific. He is also better with the babies than I am. Frankly, Ann, kids make me nervous. How canI I;et him tit quit sit- ting around and get a job?
