PAOR 10A---GODERICH SIGNAL -STAR, THURSDAY, AUGUST 23, 1973
FROM THE MINISTER'S STUDY
REV. LEONARD WARR -Victoria 8t. - Benmlller United Churches
My first reference has to do
with money: The boy who says, •
"This is my allowance;" the
wage earner who says, "This is
my wage and this is what I ear-
ned this week or the past two
weeks or for one month. It is
my money. ALL MINE"'
What do you mean, all
yours? Before this world was
made did you think of a plan
for silver and gold'' I)(d you
hide the metals deep in the
earth? I)id you form them into
c'oi'hs? That money all yours''
NOT REALLY!
My second reference has to
do with -food;` We sit at the
tl ble and I hear someone saN,
"This is my breaktast It is all
mine. ALL MINE''
What do you mean all
yours' Before the world was
made was It von w ho planned
for food? Was it you who made
the fruit and gram to grow?
The animals for meat and fish?
Was it you who thought of this?
Is it your work - the work of
yourrtch?' That food all
Yours? NOT REALLY'
N1 third reference. is MY
house, MY cottage. MY .tent.
Mir' wigwam. I live here. I have
a room in MY house etc. - all
my own. It is MINE! ALL
MINE!
Is it really vours? Before the
world was made did you
reniennberthat pe le would
need shelter from 4)iteett, and
cold? From the rain and: the
snow? From winds and even
from people? Did you think of
this'' And did you plan that
trees should grow 'strong and
tall? Was it you who formed
the great hard stone and put it

in the earth? Did you really do
this with your own hands? This
house etc. All yours'' NOT
REALLY!
• My fourth reference is my
clothes: We went shopping
today and in the boxes and
packages are my new clothes.
In my closet and drawers are
my old clothes. New clothes
and old clothes • they are all
mine. ALL MINE!
Are you sure those clothes
are really yours?? Was it you
who created the -animals of the
world'' Was it' you who made
sheep to be covered with wool?
Did you make the wool into
yarn? The yarn into cloth. Was
it you who created the plants of
the field'' The cotton plants
and the flax'' Was it you ,who
made the cloth into garments;
lovely and strong and warm''
These clothes all yours? NOT
REALLY! •
,Joy! Joy! Joy'
and its all mine!
a new day -
Hours and
hours to do as I pleased. I'm
rich - rich with time - and it's
all mine! ALL MINE! •
Are you sure that time is
really yours." Are the years and
days, °the hours and minute
really yours? Were you here -
when tinme began? How did you
think of it? How did you make
it? Then is this day really
yours',' NOT REALLY!
Everybody has some talent, tt
special skill, something he can
do hest. Surae can sing, others
can cook, plan airplanes and
rockets: others have skills for,
nursing, for growing plants and
animals. Everybody has, some
talent. I have t talent. It
belongs to me. J• can use my
talent or not as I please for it is
all mine. ALL MINE! •
What do -you mean all yours?
Were you there when man was
created? Were you -the one who
gave him -his gifts? From where
did your -talent come? Was it
given to you and who gave it?
That --talent aII •vours?
REALLY!
Now others may take away
my money. They may take even
my clothes and even my house.
My body is my own - it can
belong to no other person. MY
hand is MY hand. My voice is
MY VOICE, it can never he
yours and of this I am sure - my
body is my own. It belongs to
me. It is mine! ALL MINE!
Your hod v all yours?' Yours
to use for good deeds or evil
ways?.. Y.our body' a l l_.vou rs?_Are
you sure? Are you the Creator
of the universe? Were you there
when the world began? Did you
create people giving them
hands -and-feet, -heads and
voices? - Was it . you? NOT
REALLY!
Let us now look at the "MY"
story about Jesus. He loves me.
He is my Saviour and Friend.
His story .is "Good, news', news
of love - and His love for 'me.
Jesus is my Lord, my Teacher

BALLAD OF THE UNBORN
My shining feet will never run
on early morning lawn;
My !err vo'n ice a ore,t"rcy
A chance to greet the (lawn
My fingers now will never stretch
To touch the winning taper
'Ay race was done before 1 learned
The smallest steps to rake
My growing height will never he
recorded on the wall,
My growth was stopped -when 1 was still.
Unseen; and very small
My lips and tongue will never taste
The good fruits of the earth,
For 1 myself was fudged to be
A fruit of little worth
My eyes will never scan the sky
For when still blind, destroyed were they
In the black womb of night'
1'11 never stand upon a hill
Spring's winds in my hair,
Aborted winds of thought closed in
On motherhood's despair
1'I1 never walk the shores of life

Por 1 was chming but unloved..
And that my only crime.
Nameless am I. a grain 'Prf ,Mand

But the deed that made me ashen grey
