J.D. :A wedding trip to Quebec City and Northern Ontario followed the August 4 wedding at St. George's Anglican Church when James Dalton McConnell took Lesley Anne Blacker as his hride. Canon Garwood Russell per- formed the double -ring ceremony amid—white daisies and mums The, hride is the slaughter of Mr. and trs. Douglas Blacker and the groom's parents 'ape Mr. and Mrs. Ivan McConnell, all of Goderich. Wedding music was supplied by organist Steven Rieck and soloist Mrs. Bernice (Vern) Sweeting; of Midland,, who sang The Lord's Prayer. The Wed- ding' Song and The Wedding Prayer. • The hride was given in marriage ..by both her parents and escorted to the altar by her. father. She. wore a floor -length gown of embroidered anglaise styled with a ,round collar, short puffed sleeves and an em- pire waist 'accented with a satin how. The skirt featured 'a front pleat with buttons to the floor. Her floral headpiece was held by a shciu.lder-length veil edged. with matching embroidered anglaise. Site carried a lace - covered Bible topped with red roses and white streamers entwined with stephanotis. Maid of honor was Miss Debbie MacDonald, Goderich., She wore a'yellow floral heart and polka-dot flock gown with an empire waist, scoop neckline and puffed sleeves and a locket, the gilt of the bride. White.- - -:Tdaisies-were hite"----=-dai-sie:s--were tuckett-in-.her hair and she carried a nosegay of white daisies. Miss Judy McConnell,' Goderich: Miss Janet MacDonald, Kitchener; Miss Denise Deveau, Stratford; and M,rs. Pat Thompson, Stratford were bridesmaids. Junior bridesmaids were. Miss Susan MacDonald, Godrerich, ,and Miss pawn Skoog, Brantford. They wore green floral heart and 'polka-dot flock gowns with yellow daisies in their hair.' They carried nosegays of yellow daisies and all wore lockets which were gifts of the bride. Groomsman was David McConnell. brother of the groom, Goderich. Head usher was 'Doug Blacker, Gahriola Island, B.C. assisted by Glenn Preston, Weston; Bruce John- ston, Goderich; and James Daer, Goderich. Yellow daisies floated in green -colored water at Maitland Golf and Country Club where the wedding recep- tion was held. The bride's mother wore a pink floral patterned sheer McCONNELL friends and neighbors were guests. A rehearsal party was held at t he. home of the groom's parents. GERRARD SHERRATT • Daisies and white gladioli decorated St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, July :31, for the six -o'clock ser- vice uniting in• marriage., Deborah Ann McDougall and Gerrard Joseph Sherratt, both of Goderich. The double -ring exchange of vows was heard by Father Phillip Sherratt of Hamilton. The hride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray McDougall of Wingham,' and Mr. and Mrs. .James Sherratt, Goderich, are parents of the groom. Mullen, Goderich, to James' Henry Jerry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry 0. Jerry, Goderich. , Rev. C. Lockhart Royal con- ducted the double -ring ceremony. Wedding music was played by•James McArthur and the soloist was. Mrs. Avice Bisset. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor - length white polyester satin gown featuring long sleeves, a stand-up 'collar, an empire waist and a cathedral train. A row of buttons down the front of the gown was edged by lace, and rows of the same lace trim- med the sleeves and the train. Her long lace -trimmed veil was held in place by a row,of heads and she carried a bouquet of yellow daisies, white miniature carnations, yellow roses and lily of the valley. Miss Nancy, Greenwood, Goderich, was- maid, of honor. She wore a floor -length A-line gown of white dotted swiss with small superimposed bright flowers over a mauve -tone lining. The dress featured an empire waist with deep purple carnations and roses in a basket. Groomsman was Hudson Warr Goderich.-'Usher-s-_.wer_e. Jim Mullen, brother of the bride,. and Rob Jerry, cousin of the groom. Steven Jerry, cousin of 'the groom, Port Huron, Michigan, was iringbearer. Shasta daisies ,,;centred the tables at the Candlelight Inn where the wedding reception was held. The bride's mother wore a floor -length turquoise and white gown with white ac- cessories and a corsage of yellow sweetheart 'roses and pink variegated miniature car; nations. The groom's mother -chose an orange -ice floor -length gown with white accessories and a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses and white miniature carnations. '- For travelling to Florida, the bride donned a floor -length gown of pink polyester featuring a round scoop neckline with white collar, short puff sleeves and an em- pire waist with ties, at back. A white floppy brim hat and whiteaccessories completed her ensemble. Mr: and Mrs. Jerry are living in Goderich. Prior to her marriage, the bride was feted at a shower Goderich and Mr. Grant Ellison, also of Goderich, sang 0 Love's Prayer and Ave Maria. Mr. McDougall gave his daughter in marriage. She wore `an A-line floor -length gown of white polyester satin. The em- pire 'styled bodice of sculptured lace featured a scooped neckline enclosed in delicate sheer whish enjoined a ring collar of matching lace, and short sleeves from which flowed full sheer sleeves caught at the wrists to cuffs which matched the collar. The bodice details were all outlined by narrow lace edging. A Juliet cap of white lace held her floor - length veil of French illusion and she carried a colonial bouquet of white daisies, white sweetheart roses and Yellow miniature porn poms with trailing --streamers oF-• white satin ribbon. . Miss Edle Andersen of Lon- don was maid of honor wearing a blue floor -length gown of daisy -flocked nylon over taffeta designed as the bride's v'ith white daisy lace outlining the., bodice details. The bridesmaids • were Miss Ann MacDonald, Toronto;• Miss' Fay Robinson, Goderich; and Mrs. Mary Zoethout of Elora..They wore yellow floor length gowns of daisy -flocked nylon over taffeta, the empire . bodices styled with short sleeves and ring collars of.,' yellow taffeta. .The senior attendants carried nosegays of • white daisies caught with white satin ribbon and similar flowers, adorned their hair. The winsome little flowergirl, Cristina Crowley of Goderich, with daisies caught in her up- swept hairdo, wore a' junior version of the bridesmaids' dresses and carried a basket of white daisies. Master Robert Million of Hanover was ringbearer. • . _..Gro nsman,,was.__Terry___ Crowleyof Goderich, and Dave McDougall of Kitchener, Pat Sherratt of Goderich and Ray Zoethout of Elora ushered the guests. The reception was held at the Saltford Valley Hall. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. McDougall chose an aqua floor -length crimplene dress with long full sleeves and a ruf- fled yoke. A. narrow band of gold braid encircled the waistline. White sweetheart roses formed her corsage. The groom's mother was gowned in a ,sleeveless floor - length' dress of ,pink crimplene to which was pinned a corsage of talisman roses. A broad - brimmed hat of matching pink mohair and white accessories completed her ensemble. Por travelling to Northern Ontario, the bride changed to a red and white crimplene pant suit. Her accessories were white and she wore a white carnation corsage. Mr. and Mfrs. Mr. and Mrs. McConnell are residing in London where they are both students. A shower for the bride was given by friends -at Delaware Nell, University of Western On- tario. A shower was also held at • the bride elect's home given by her aunt, Mrs. Howard Aitken assisted by Debbie and Susan MacDonald at which, and streamers at back, long sleeves and deep cuffs. She wore a .hat trimmed with deep purple and carried a bouquet of white daisies, mauve variegated miniature car- nations and yellow sweetheart roses. ' -• ., Bridesmaids were Debbie Mullen; sister of the hride, Goderich, and ,Miss Janette Jerry, sister of the groom, Mon- treal. They were 'gowned similarly to the maid of honor in colors of blue and yellow Wedding atonies, respectively. Flowetgirl was "Miss Tina Chambers, cousin of the bride, Goderich. She wore a white gown with white lining of Iden- tical style to the dresses worn by the senior attendants. The dress was trimmed with green velvet and she carried daisies, shower given by Miss Nancy Greenwood with fellow em- ployees from Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in atten- dance; and a shower given by Miss Debbie Mullen. A trousseau tea was held at ,the bride's Fmme prior to the wedding when the grandmother of '.the bride, Mrs. Florence Berry poured tea. rinnormintrnermactirrre pictures published free within on• month of ceremony Pre-Nuptlal Events _Prior to her marriage, the bride was entertained by the ladies ot`_the Signal -Star staff at a miscellaneous shower -held at the home of Mrs. Rod Leonard; Miss Edle Andersen and Mrs. Alic Menary were hostesses for a' miscellaneous shower at the latter's home; Miss Fay Robinson and Mrs. Rita Burroughs, held a •miscellaneous shower at, the home of Mrs. J. Sherratt; and her aunt, Mrs. Islay Johnston, entertained relatives at a miscellaneous shower. Following the rehearsal, the bridal party was entertained at the home of the groom's parents. Honemoonifl Niagara 'FqIIs MR. AND MRS. W.A. WATT Marriage vows were ex- changed on July 28 in St. George's Church, Goderich, between Judith Ellen Jenkins and Warren A, Watt with Canon G.G. Russell officiating. The parents of the bride are M. and Mrs. Maurice R. Jenkins and' the groom is the son of Mr. and- Mrs. Archie Watt, all of Goderich. The soloist, Robert Watt,,un cle of the groom, was accom- panied by Stephen Rieck at the organ in •the rendition of "Oh Perfect Love" and. "Wedding Prayer." Proudly given in marriage by. her father, the bride chose a formal gown of white sata- peau, styled with an empire' hodice, square neckline and trumpet sleeves. Pink gibbon s_hread.ed through_ french guipure lace accented the neckline, sleeves,. arid -the soft flounce on the skirt. A full- length silk illusion - veil trim- med with the ;same lace com- pleted the- ensemble. The bride's mother chose a white sleeveless gown of chiffon with pink and mauve floral design. The groom's mother wore a flowing green formal gown with white matching ac- cessories. Following the wedding, a dinner was held at the Bedford I -Intel with George Budge of Bexdale as master of ceremonies. To conclude the happy day, a wedding dance was held at the Sunset Golf ,and Country Club (where en- tertainment was provided by Hal Scholz of London. Married at Knox SPROUL - FITZPATRICK A quiet wedding took place Saturday. August 18 at Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich when Rev. Lockhart Royal united in marriage Patricia Fit - The bride was attended by zpatrick, Holmesville, and Jack Miss Mariann Yantho of Sproul, Dungannon. Tillsonburg. Bridesmaids were The couple were attended by Miss Linda Faulkner and Miss Mrs. Marg Lamarsh and Jack Ruth Melady, both of Goderich, East. and Miss Jeannie Morse of The reception was held in Richmond, Ont.
