showing excellent- growth after
the three week dry spell and
most areas have received
adequate rain during the last
week to bring on the bean,,corn,
and spring grains.
Despite late seeding of sortie
corn and beans, the warm
weather of July encouraged
rapid growth of crops and the
dry weather resulted in some
good first cut hay crops being
harvested.
Mr. Miller said that the
wheat harvest is now in full
swing in Huron and the yield
varies from normal to down
about ten percent. Some fields
that have not been harvested
yet need dryer weather or' the
wheat will begin to sprout
reducingits quality..
The spring grain harvest is
just beginning in' Huron and
Mr..Miller said it was too early
to predict yields or quality.

Pitre handed out prizes to
everyone with the Low Gross
