Last Thursday evening laun-
ched the beginning of an of-
ficial Goderich Pro Liffe Group
in the area. -

at the mine where a truck
carrying equipment for the
operation crossed the picket
line. .
Evaporator Plant employees
continued ,to pass through the
picket line to work but, no salt
could be shipped from the
operation since unionized
truckers would not cross the
Goderich were recalled to work
Monday after a court injunc-
tion stopped picketing of •the
plant by striking employees of
Domtar's Sifto Salt Mine.
The evaporator employees
were laid off July 3-- because
pickets around the plant had
stopped trucks shipping salt
from the operation. The em-
ployees were crossing the line
to work each day but according
to a company statement "even-
tually inventories of bulk and
packaged salt °built up to the
point where 44 employees had
to be laid off." '
Striking members • Local
682, International Chemical
Workers, began picketing the
plant June 26. Those men have
been on strike against the Sifto
Salrmine since May 28.

On .Friday morning Ontario,
Supreme Court Justice J. _ D.
Cromarty issued the injunction
and by 11:30 a.m. pickets had
been removed.
An earlier application for an
injunction was denied by
County Court Judge Franke
Carter on July 3.

Minister Claude F. Bennett
visited Western Ontario on
Monday and Tuesday as part of
a seven week tour of Ontario
which began July 9 and winds
up`August 24.
During the trip, expected to
cover some 7,000 miles, Mr.
Bennett is ?meeting with mem-
bers of municipal councils, in-
dustrial commissioners, tourist
operators, chambers of com-
merce, Ontario Government
`field officers and individual
businessmen. -
Most of these meetings are
conducted in a special "mini -
bus'{, which accompanies the
minister on his travels.

ton, Kincardine and Goderich.
While in . Goderich Mr. Ben-
nett met with Mayor Harry
Worsell, County Development
Officer Spence Cummings, and
Industrial Commissioner

meeting was held in the
minister's mihi-bus on the lawn
of the Huron County Court
House. •
