and expense ` we erected a
beautiful temple as a gift to
God. •
Let us further imagine that
after all our efforts and
sacrifice, •God took our gift of
love and abused it, taking no
thought for the maintenance
and upkeep of the building He
allowed it to take every con-
ceivable type of abuse, and fur-
thermore Heused the building
to raise pigs in. Needless to say,
we would Ise insulted, offended ,
and hurt over the way in which
God cared for the moat precious
gift of love that we as human
beings could conceive.
Yet ..the scriptures clearly
record that our lives are God's
love gift to ue. We read that
God looks at our life and
bodies as a sacred temple a

place in which He. -longs to
dwell. How often do we take
this precious gift of life aknd .
abuse it takingno thought of its
value or God's purpose in
giving it to U8. We recklessly
take foolish chances with it and
take, on habits which cause it to
be dirty and weak.
How, often after much abuse
to this gift from God do we
wish that it were over and how
often do people realize just how
precious this gift of life is when
it is all but finished; worn and
battered with our abuse and
neglect.
Just think how you are
treating your life, God has
provided us with maintenance
instructions in His Word along
with the ability and intelligence
to apply them. How have you
been treating it?

Weeks, a missionary for the
Church of Jesus Christ of Lat-

program called the Family
Home Evening to share with
families ° in and around
Goderich. The program is
designed to bring families
together once a week to share
discussions, family, councils and
fun activities which will"unite
them and develop strong farniiy
ties.
The Family Home Evening.
program has been used suc-
cessfully in the Latter-day
Saints homes for several years
and is now beim shared with
.religious and lay organizations
world wide.
Miss Weeks and her com-
panion, Carolyn Wilson, were

Something other than racing
enthusiasts will occupy Wood-
bine Race Track near the end
of July this Year. For five days,
33,000 Jehovah's ;'Witnesses
from Southern Ontario, .the
North Eastern United States,
and many 'other lands, will..
congregate in Toronto.
Young and old, those in good
health and even the infirm are
now arranging their affairs so
as not to miss out on. one
minute' of the program. What is
the attraction at Woodbine?
The Bible --with its solution to
mankind's pressing 'problems.
This "Divine Victory" Inter-
national Assembly of Jehovah's
witnesses will be one of 30 such
conventions held on this con-
tinent this summer - from
Halifax to Panama._
Mr. Laurence Gray, conven-
tion manager at Toronto noted,
"one of the main reasons why
o many people so eagerly plan
to attend this particular assem-
bly is to hear down to , earth
discussions of the Bible with its
answers to the maTi 'modern -
day problems." He added,
"even more vital, the program
is designed to encourage each
one to withstand the rapidly in-
creasing pressures during this
short remaining. period before
human rulership, saddled with
world-wide unrest and the
spectre of famine is removed
and replaced by a system of
things ruled by mankind's
Creator: .
The public, is invited' to at-
tend all the , nessiohs
throughout the five day conven,
tion, and a special invitation is
being 'extended to hear, the

church to those who are in-

Miss Weeks, from Orem,
Utah, has studied at Brigham
Young University before
coming to Canada. She will
return in August, when her
missionary term is coed,
to obtain her degree in en-
tary education.
Miss Wilson, who is from
Levittown,- Pennsylvania, has
recently begun her mission
following her grrion from
Brigham Young University
with a B. S. degree in Child
Development - and• Family
Relationships. °
The missionaries are anxious
to be of assistance to the town
of Goderich by helping local
families to begin holding
weekly Family Home Evenings
in their own homes. They are
presenting the program to
fathers, churches and lay
groups in the area. For further
information about the Family
Home Evening, call 524-7057.
