What -Old -ditty holds a few
good questions that some of us
ask ourselves after such a
pleasant time together.
There is so much unhap-
piness, frustration I and
downright stupidity around us,
that we SHOULD do something
to break down the crust - every
once in a while. A friendly
group who can talk or argue or
do crazy things like "table tip-
ping" and laughing, and singing
0. together - just HAVE to be the
nicest people one could ever
know -- and. I' know a few!
What does being a turtle

To return to the nice people'
subject! t recently met a family,
new to Goderich, who made
quite an impression on me.
They are Mr. and Mrs. Claude
Bissonette who have three girls
and one boy and a lively group
they are. -
Mr. Bissonette, who hopes to
get something in his line, 'here
in Goderich, has third class
Engineer Certificate and- is
presently working at St.
Joseph's ,Hospital,' London.
The• family all enjoy sports,
with bowling, baseball and
hockey their chief interests.
The Bissonettes are looking
forward to • enjoying Goderich
as much as they did Peter-
borough where they had lived
before coming tot. Goderich. So -
far !they have found our town
friendly and interesting and
hope to be busy with their
many interests - which also in-
clude music.
For us friendly folic:is-4 want
to ° wish the Bissonettes many
happy days.

Playhouse open
• ''A' rich summer of live drama
began to unfold alt the Huron
Country Playhouse '73 Festival
of summer stockopened its
doors on Wednesday with 'the
first of its season's eight playa,
a - Broadway._._ comedy "Under --
The Yum -Yum Tree". -
As opening night arrived; the
,Playhouse site was a dawn -to•
dusk hive of activity as the
hundred -year-old farm hurried
its way through the strenuous '
metamorphosis from
agricultural to cultural func-
tion. Everyone, actors included,
learned the difference between
greasepaint and housepaint,
and the dubious joy of manual
labour.
Initially, the task seemed in-
surmountable, but, typical of
show business, everything was
ready for opening night.
Technical Director, Tayie Ab-
del-Rehem is Egyptian, and
fortunately so, because the size
and scope of the job called for a
man whose ancestors were
pyramid -builders.
Performances take place in a
tent. with a capacity of three
hundred and sixty seats which
workers have painted and in-
stalled on a gently -raked floor.
The partially -restored barn will
house a lounge for patrons, a
boutique, an art gallery, an-
tique display, rehearsal hall,
dressing rooms, prop storage,
workshops and washrooms. All
renovations to 4auildings have
been done with old, used,
materials to maintain the
historical authenticity of the
farm; definitely a worthy cause,
but, needles in haystacks are
often easier to find than fifty -
foot barn beams.
It's been 'a" mammoth job
that. involved finding, and
dissembling another ord
barn, transporting the timber,
and then, putting the pieces
together again. Theatre people
are versatile, but this one really
had them hanging from the raf-
ters.
To augment its popularity,
the playhouse is using two new
ideas this year in ticket sales.
One, 'i a ' seasdn'a 'Book of`
