patient in the Wingham and
District General Hospital.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Peter Martin (nee Louise
Dalton) on the. birth of a baby
boy, Christopher Michael at the
Kincardine and District
General Hospital on Wed-
nesday, June 6 - a wee brother
for Danny. Little Christopher
was taken to the Sick
Children's Hospital w London
on Friday and we are pleased
to report he is doing nicely.
-Miss Ann Dalton is helping
out at the bottle of her sister
Louise, brother-in-law Peter
Martin and son Danny.
Mrs. Herman Lanhertus who
has made her home for the win-
ter months with her daughter
Loretta, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Meyers and family of London
has returned -and is staving
with her daughter' Irene - Mrs.
Dennis Dalton. Another
daughter of Hamilton.. visited
her on Monday of this .week.
Mrs. Jack McConville (Mary
Theresa Austin) and son Jerry
of Agincourt spent the weekend
with -her mother, Mrs. Clifton
Austin.
Mr. and Mrs. Con Hogan
visited in London on Thursday
of last week.
Walter Kelly of , London
spent the weekend here and
visited with his mother, Mrs.
Arriving at the Midhurst
Forest Station, the group was
given a guided tour. Then it
was on to Angus to the Ontario
Tree Seed Plant where they
went on another guided tour.
Supper was enjoyed. in the
restaurant at Alliston. They
arrived back home shortly after
9:00 p.m.

educational bus trip on Friday,
June 8th.
Leaving the school at 8 a.m.
the first stop was at Eugenia
Falls. Following the Kimberley
Valley, along Georgian Bay to
Collingwood, they arrived at
the Ontario Zoological Park at
Wasaga Beach in time for
lunch. At the zoo, they saw
monkeys, tigers, lions, bears,
birds, waterfowl, and wildfowl,
etc.

Rev. Garbutt Smith presided
at a meeting of the Huron -
Perth TBRD Association in
Seaford. when routine reports
were given by Mrs. Ray Cann,
Exeter, Mrs. Edith Brothers,
Stratford.
Mrs. Cann said the
Education Committee is plan-
ning a week of "Anti -Smoking"
activities in September, with
several noted speakers ad-
dressing community gatherings.
She reported on proceedings
,and , attendance at several
regional conferences and
workshops of interest to the
respiratory disease movement.
Mrs. Brothers reported that
the,. Asthmatic Conditioning
Class for children had been
well attended in Clinton with
14 registered and 'with an
average attendance of i2. Mrs.

Carol Bowker of Clinton con-
ducted the classes and Dr.
Frank Mills and Dr. K.W.
Hampson were the medical ad-
visors for the course. Mrs.
Brothers said that classes spon-
sored by the Association had
been reported in the Canadian
TBRD Association national
bulletin. She said that the
Monday night "Breathing
Class" walkers on "a trip to
Vancouver via treadmill and
stationary bicycle would spend
the summer months near
Calgary in a fashionable resort
and resume the "tour" the
third week in September.
Student representatives, Jane
Bopsteel; Diane Thornton and,
Peter Blanken have assumed
the responsibility of a health
'education "float" in the Strat-
ford Labor Day parade.
Summer visitor
program begins
at the Point
The public information
program at the Bruce Nuclear
Power Development will begin
summer operation tt ,,Saturday,
June 16.
Free tours, which include a
visit- to the Information Centre
theatre and exhibit area
followed by a guided bus tour
of the site, will run daily from
the Visitor Centre between
10:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. until
mid-September.
During weekdays, buses will
leave the Visitor Centre every
40 minutes. On weekends and•
holidays, buses will depart at
20 minute intervals. Last com-
plete tour starts at 5:10 p.m.
To get there, travel Highway
21; between Kincardine and
Port Elgin and follow the signs
marked ''Visitor Centre".

County gets
new deputy
fire marshal
At a special meeting of town
council held Thursday evening
a motion was passed to appoint
David A. Crothers as District
Deputy Fire Marshal for the
Town of Wingham and the
County of Huron. This was on
a request from the office of the
Fire Marshal.
Mr. -Crothers is the fire chief
for the Town or Wingham.
Councjllor Willis stated at
the meeting that fire permits
are required for fireworks and
not for open fireplaces.

Robert John Shipley Currell
appears in the list of Honour
Graduates receiving the Degree
of Bachelor of Arts (Ad-
ministration).
Robert (Bob), who was born
at Oshawa, Matriculated at
East York Collegiate and went
on to the University of Toronto
in Chemical Engineering, is the
son of Lloyd W. and Pretoria
(Shipley) Currell, who are
natives of Goderich and Clin-
ton respectively.
During his earlier University
years Bob was employed at the
Central Development
Laboratories of Canadian Pitt-
sburgh Industries Limited,
Toronto, between semesters,
where he subsequently became
Chief Chemist, which led him
into the Business Ad-
ministration & Finance field of
study at York University.
