Three members who are leaving the parish, Mrs. J. Ter- pstra, Mrs. N. Legere and Mrs. K. Vanderwetering will be presented with pictures of Our Lady of Good Counsel, patroness of the League. Sister Colleen Marie gave a very inspiring talk on Religious Vocations. Her contribution to the spiritual program of the League was much appreciated. An invitation from' the Sisters of St. Joseph, London,h to be present for the profession of final vows by a. group of young sisters ways received with appreciation. This ceremony will take place in 'the chapel of the Motherhouse, London, on Saturday June 16 at 10:30 a.m. All those wishing to attend should call the local convent so that arrangements can be made. An invitation was received from the C.W.L. of St. Joseph's, Kingsbridge, inviting local members to attend their meeting on Tuesday, June 17 to hear a special speaker. On Sunday, June 17, the C.W.L. ladies will cater for a Communion Breakfast in the Parish Hall, for the Youth Group and their parents. Following the Walkathon, Saturday, June 9, to raise money for the anti -abortion publicity campaign, the League served lunch to participants at Columbus Hall'. There was discussion regar- ding the C.W.L. catering for the dinner for the Grade Eight graduates, parents . and teachers. Details of this dinner will be discussed with theFprin- cipal and decided later. Meetings will be suspended for the summer months and will be resumed in September. MRS FRED TAYLOR Funeral service was held on June 3rd for Mrs. Fred Taylor who passed away in Clinton Public Hospital on May 31 in her 91st year. She was the daughter of the late George Arnold apd Elizabeth Adis and had been a resident of Huronview for a few years. She was married to the. late Frederick Taylor and had resided at ,,Wiarton, Nile, Auburn and Granton. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. John (Wilda) Clatworthy of Granton and Mrs. Ben (Hazel) Park of Dungannon; also five sons, Fred, Erie, Michigan; Stanley of Hamilton; Stuart of Nile, Raymond of Welland; and George of London; 26 grand- children and 37 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith of London and Mrs. Deborah Holmes of Owen Sound. One daughter, Mrs. Robert (Irene) Arthur and four sons Wilfred, Calvin, Elgin and,Ber- nard, predeceased her. The funeral was held at the Arthur Funeral Home with in- terment in Dungannon Cemetery. Pastor Alfred Fry was in charge. Pallbearers were George Wright, Jack Wright, David Taylor, Thomas Taylor William Taylor and Ted Bakker. Relatives and friends were present from Guelph, Wiarton, Hamilton, Erie, Welland, Lon- don, Toronto, Dungannon, Granton and the surrounding district. WALKERBURN CLUB The Walkerburn Club held their monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Joe Verwey with the president, Mrs. Elliott Lapp - in charge. The minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read by the secretary, Mrs. Worthy Young. The roll call was answered by donations seeds, plants and bulbs for the penny sale. Fourteen members and a visitor, Mrs. Arie Duizer's sister-in-law frcjn Holland an- swered the roll call. Draw prize donated by Mrs. James Jackson was won by Mrs. Worthy Young. Mrs. Thomas Cunningham invited the Club to come to her home for the June meeting. This will be the annual meeting with the paying of fees. The program will be in the charge of Mrs. Nick Hill and Mrs. Garth McClinchey. Lunch will be in the charge of Mrs. Joe Hunking and Mrs. Elliott Lapp. On -motion Of Mrs. Carmen Phyllis Isobel Fisher and Leslie W. Pitblado, both of Goderich were united in marriage on Friday evening May 25. A reception followed for their immediate families at 50 Lighthouse St., Goderich. Paul Thomas Paquette, ioif of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley J. Paquette of 28 Britannia Road West In Goderich, graduated ▪ recently with his Bachelor of Arts degree In French and Spanish from Waterloo Lutheran University. Mr. Paquette will be attending Althouse College of Education In the fall. - Beatrice Joyce McClenaghan, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. R.C. McClenaghan of Dungannon, received her Bachelor of Home Economics Degree on May 24 • ,from the University. of Manitoba, Winnipeg.
