of high school, .Jane would like
to attend either Mohawk or
Conestoga College to study
Recreational Leadership.
Now that she is Social Con-
vener, Jane will endeavour to
"better the communications
between the student body and
their council through the class
representatives."

Joe O'Keefe
The new Student Council._
President is 18 year old, year 4
student Joe O'Keefe.
Throughout his school career,
Joe has played football and has
been ,involved in track. This .
year he was a defensive captain
cin the Senior Vikings Football
squad.
During the summer he enjoys
most uuXdour sports but
baseball in particular. Upciri his
completion `of school. ,toe would
like to attend the University of
Western Ontario to further his
education.
Now that he is the new
President, .toe would "like to
see more student council con-
trol over social happenings in
the school such as dances." He
believes that regulations for
these activities should be set up
and -enforced by the students
tttemsglves.

student Susan Freeman.
Susan is currently President
of the G.D.C.I. -Viking Concert
Band and editor of the "Nor-
seman" the school newspaper.
She is certainly well qualified

for the position having served
on the student council for six
years. Susan has also been a
correspondent for the Signal
Star for the past two years.
Throughout high school she has
been involved in the Drama
Club and played basketball for
the :school.
After she completes high
school, Susan would like to at-
tend University to study
English or Geography.
While in office, Susan would
':like to encourage greater par-
ticipatipn ,!tnd individual ideas
from the student body, through_
the class representatives and in
turn motivate the council
executives to act upon the ideas
of that student body".
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simp-
son spent the weekend at
Turkey Point as guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Ferguson of Delhi.
Miss Jan Simpson of Toronto
and Gary Kaye of St,ratford,
joined her parents for dinner at
Turkey Point on - Saturday
evening before returning to the
city.
Mr. and Mrs. Colin Howes
and family enjoyed a holiday
last week at Stokes Bay 00 the
Bruce Peninsula.
Miss Gayle MacKenzie enter-
tained her girlfriends on Satur-
day on the occasion of her
ninth birthday.
A relative shower was held in
Whitechurch for Miss Doris
Fisher of Wingham, bride of
this month. Attending from
Kintail were Mr.' and Mrs.
Duncan Simpson and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan MacLean
of Collingwood spent Saturday
evening with Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cooper of
the local' Golden Gate Club, a
group of about 100 "over sixty;'
old youngsters, feel they were
very privileged to be chosen to
represent Huron County in a
special tour last May '24 to 31.
Over 105 people representing
clubs from every province from
Vancouver to Prince Edward
island and North and South,

They stayed at the Thomson
•Residence of the University, a
budding 20 floors high ,and still
going up, up, up. The tulips
were out in all their' glory and
the Centennial Flowering Crab
trees were most beautiful. .
They had a wonderful time,
wonderful Meals and
entertainment. The sing songs
and dancing helped to seal a
good many'. new friendships.
They met the Governor.

Fort Nelson B.C. after spending
the last two weeks with his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Finlay
MacDonald.
Robert Simpson Jr. attended
a graduation for the Grade 12
and 13 students of G.D.C.I. at
the Bedford Hotel in Goderich
last Thursday evening.
Teachers of St. Joseph's
School Kingsbridge attended a
dinner meeting in Seaforth on
Wednesday evening last week.
Mrs. •Jim O'Neil from
Toronto visited with her sister
and brother-in-law Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Meclntyre over the
weekend.
Miss Margaret Simpson is at
the home of her parents after
spending the last few months in
Guelph.
