Ontario North Street United Church was the scene Sarurday, May 12 for the double -ring ceremony at which Robert ('rang Mathieson and Lillian Jean Manderson, both of Goderich, exchanged vows. Rev. Robert Rayrnont of- ficiated amid lighted candles at the altar surrounded by white daisies. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Annette Nitta/iv—son, Goderich, and th Intel -Frank Manderson. e groom's parents are ,Mr. and Mrs. (IC. Mathieson. Goderich. Escorted to the altar by her eldest brother, Tom Mander- son, Goderich, the bride chose a long white gown styled with tiers of chantilly lace falling from the waistline. The scalloped neckline was trine med with rhipestones. Her organza cluster petalled head- dress was accented with pearls and rrvlstones and caught a floor -length veil of French -silk illusion }rimmed with matching chantilly lace. She carried white carnations, yellow roses and white lilies. Maid of honor was Miss Carol Manderson, sister of the bride, Goderich. She selected a long, pink sheer gown of French crepe with cape style slee,es. She wore short white gloves and pink satin shoes ands carried white and yellow daisies. Groomsman was Ron Im beau, brother-in-law of the groom, Goderich. Ushers were Ted Tisdale, brother-in-law of the bride, Ramore, Ontario, and George Low, friend of. the groom, Goderich.' At the Candlelight Inn where the wedding. reception - was held, the bride's mother' received her guests in a long, sheer- aqua blue gown of satin crepe featuring long, sheer puff - style sleeves with beads en- folding the neckline of the dress. She wore a corsage of blue carnations, and white ac- cessories. The groom's mother wore a long sheer raspberry gown in French de leir with a sweetheart neckline and long, puff -.style sleeves. MATHIESON white gloves and a corsage of pink carnations The tables for the reception were centred with white can- dles and whlte daisies. For travelling in South- western Ontario, the bride changed to a blue V -necked fit- ted dress with white collar. and cuffs and a row of blue buttons down the front; white woven Fred Bisset) purse and white shoes and a corsage of red roses. The newlyweds are residing at 137 North Street, Goderich. Prior to her marriage, the bride was feted at showers given by maid of honor Miss Carol Manderson attended by friends of the family and by Mrs. Valerie Imbeau, sister of the groom. Knights of Columbus Announce raffle draw winners The Knights of' Columbus Annual Charities Raffle Draw held by the Ontario State Council took place at the Brock Hotel, Niagara Falls, on Mon- day, May 21. a First prize, a Chrysler Newport, 2 -door hardtop, fully equipped, was won by M. T. Thomas, 63 Cayuga Cres., Lon- don, Ontario. (Ticket 408066). The second prize, a Plymouth Duster, 2-doorSports Coupe, was won by Mr. John McCauley, 1035 Nesbitt Cres., No. 7 Woodstock, Ontario, (Ticket 539146). Recipient of proceeds is the Canadian Arthritic and Rheumatism Society. Sports - Everyone is prac- tising hard for our upcoming field day on May 29. Monday May 28 our track events were held at the race track and on June 5 the win- ners will compete in Clinton. The events for the track meet are as follows; t0e1yd dash, 150 yd. dash, girls open 44Q, boys open 440 -and boys open 880. The field events are high jump, long jump, triple, shot and discus. By the time this is published our school will have seen the operetta Tom Sawyer held at Victoria Public School. We are certain we will enjoy it very nmch after the many hours of hard work and practising. We welcome to our school Miss Braid who will be teaching us French for the remaining school year and also next September. • A couple of weeks ago Miss Jefferson's and Mr. Currie's c.asses travelled to Midland where they visited Fort Ste. Marie. PORI ALBERI Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cock- field of Lavonia Michigan visited with Mrs. RoX Petrie on weekend. SPECIAL DINNER On Sunday following the church service May 27th in the basement of Christ Church, all sat down 'to a dinner in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Graham4"ltlrcClinchey brother of groom. who are now residing in Dale Baer, brother of bride, Goderich. Ralph Foster read the ad- dress and Elmer Black made the presentation. In replying, Elmer in his usual way reminisced on the past and said it was 110 years this day his father was born on' the farm Elmer now owns. He -thanked everyone and in- vited everyone to call on them in their home , in Goderich anytime. Marriedat Benmiller Benmiller United Church was decorated with plants of yellow mums on May 4 for the double -ring ceremony when Donald Wayne McClinchey took Gwenda Kathleen Baer as his bride. The service was conducted by Rev. Leonard Warr and music was supplied by organist Mrs. Leonard Warr. 'l'he bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baer, R R•• 4 Goderich, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McClinchey, R R 4 Goderich. Given in marriage by her., father, the bride wore a floor - length gown of crystal peau and guipure lace with an empire waistline, full bell sleeves and a sabrina neckline. The sleeves and chapel train were trimmed with guipure lace. She wore a French illusion tiered veil which fell from her headpiece. of lace and pearl garland. She wore a cameo necklace anti 11 carried a bouquet of yellow baby roses and baby's breath •with yellow streamers. Maid of honor was —Miss Valerie Stothers .who wore 'a floor -length gown of pale green and white checked organza with puffed sleeves. scooped neck and empire waist. She wore yellow daises in her hair and carried a single long stem- med yellow rose. - Bridesmaid was Miss Mar- tha Baer, sister of •the bride, gowned identically to maid of honor. Miss Tracey Baer youngest sister of the bride was flower - girl. She was a miniature -copy of the bridesmaids, but carried a basket of yellow daisies and baby's breath. - Groomsman was Milton McClinchey, Goderich, brother , of groom-. The groom's mother selected a floor -length gowr, of pink polyester crepe with a plain bodice, full-length sleeves and floral skirt, with beige ac- cessories and a corsage of white carnations. For travelling the bride FESTIVAL '73 STARTS TONIGHT changed to a green and white dress with . a white shawl and brown accessories. The couple are now residing at 207 Huron Road, Goderich.
