Instructors for this course in- cluded Mr. J. B. McCarroll, Physical Education Consultant, Miss P. Rowe, Physical Education Department, South Huron District High ` School, and Mrs. V. Zyluk, Precious Blood School, Exeter. The program started with John McCarroll introducing the teachers to the well known marching pieces so that Kin - dergarten children can be fully aware of their body skills, space available to them; and their relationship with fellow students. The teachers used their arms, legs, and various other parts of their body to show their feelings to the mar- ching music stimulus. Later they joined in a more formal dance of the "Alley Cat", where they learned Through the sponsorship of the Goderich Kinsmen Club and the local Police Depart-, ment ther' nua l Crusi der cycle Club Bicycle Rodeo will be held Saturday May 26 at Victoria Public School. She also spent one year in family planning and venereal disease education in a London "Free ° CTiiic". Her husband,' Gurmel Singh, is about to graduate from Western Univer- sity in London as an Electrical Engineer. They are now living tin Goderich on Waterloo Street. It was kind of an odd circum- stance which prompted Mrs. Thind to apply for this position. While she was at a nursing con - ference in Toronto, she found out by talking to a couple of nurses from the Huron County Unit that they did not have a supervisor and that Dr. Frank Mills the Medical Officer had been looking for one for a couple of months. After thinking it over she finally decided to apply. Although she has been here only a short time, she sees the Huron County Health Unit as being very progressive. Mrs. Thind is very anxious to find out if the services provided 'by the unit are reaching the people as effectively as they should be. She believes that a portab`e clinic may be more advan- tageous towards serving the needs of the rural people to a greater extent. Her impressions of Goderich are most favourable. Although she has been quite busy getting settled, she says Cie people have been most friendly and considerate. "I think I will be most happy working here," she said. definite steps and patterns of music. Then they were organized into groups of four to plan a variation of combined movements suggested within their groups. They, like the children, were given the oppor- tunity to create their own dif- ferent patterns of steps and body movements. Mrs. V. Zyluk taught the at- tending teachers the step to the "Virginia Reel". Then Miss P. Rowe demonstrated the popular Folk Dances "The Crested Hen" and "The Ten- nessee Wig Walk". Before starting the square dance, Mr. McCarroll taught the English Folk Dance "Greensleeves" In conc/luilbrn, the, sg4(,at— /)/ dance pupilsv from Ecole Ste Marie School did two historical Huron County Folk Dances. Af- ter this demonstration, the audience joined in with this ,lively group. Nearly 50 teachers, students, and spectators, took part in this opening workshpp at St. Boniface School, Zurich. They left the Workshop with materials to help their class un- derstand "To Dance Is To Live." Another Workshop will take place at St. Patrick's School, Dublin, on May 16, 1973, with participants coming from Hesson,, Kj iknra, Seaforth, St, Columban, Goderich, the Teachers' College in Stratford, and St. Michael's school, Stratford. Recreational Person- nel from the local towns will also be present, The bones found 165 ft. south of the south pier at Bayfield November 18, 1972, by Roland Kolter of Dearborn, Michigan, while he and his wife , were beach combing in the area, are human bones—and believed to be those of Henk Halff and Neil Wormshecker of Stratford, both 30 years of age and natives of the same town in Holland. .Both- were lost in ..a -boating- ac— cident on --Lake- Huron October 22, 1967. The men were last seen leaving Goderich harbour that day in a 20 ft. sail boat.. -The capsized craft was found later that evening by a freighter -about three miles north of Goderich. Constable Harold Green of the Goderich O.P.P. investigated.,m, the boating in- cident. Constable Lorne Carter of Goderich O.P.P. , who was in charge of the present in- vestigation, said the bones found by Mr. Kolter had been sent to the Toronto General Hospital and were examined by Dr. Anderson, Associate Professor of Pathology of the University of Toronto and were a human rib from the left side of the thorax and the other bone was a regular fragment of the maxilla (facial bone) believed to have been out of the water from two to three years. From timeto time bones have been discovered along the shoreline and in 1969 Con- stable Bruce Crew investigated the discovery of . bones just north of Bayfield, which were the remains of a foot. It is Constable Carter said the report on the findings had just recently been received from Toronto from Dr. Cotnam, Chief Coroner. This summer start something that'll last for years A Lawn -Boy.
