others, he recognized the harm
the tax would bring. It takes ,a
strong character to reverse a
political stand that has been
brought before the public. By
withdrawing the tax, Mr. White
proves that he is strong; apcl
responsive to taxpayers. There
should be more politicians with
this quality."
Hill adds, "As amended, the
budget now provides an attrac-
tive package for farmers. It
assists in the transfer of family
farms to the next ' generation.
Of even greater importance, it
also eases the inequitous bur-
den of property tax on farmers.
This tax concession will be
evident each year in higher net
farm incomes.

TOWN ofGODERICH
Auditor's Report
To: The Members of Council and Ratepayers of the
Corporation of the Town of Goderich
.a -
I hove examined the 1972 financial statements of the Corpora-
tion of the Town of Goderich and its lOcal boards, which are listed
on the attached Index. My `examination ircluded a general review
of the accounting. procedures and such tests of accounting records
and other supporting evidence as I considered necessary tn the cir-
cumStances. •
In my opinion these financial statements present fairly the
financial position of the Corporation of the Town of Goderich ,and
its.1ocal boards as at' December 31st, 1972 and the. results of their
operations for the year then ended, in accordance with accounting
principles generally accepted for Ontario municipalities applied on a
basis consistent with that of the preceding year.
