When the (;oderich billing does move to London there will be an initial set up ,•harge of five cents per hill, and then a billing charge of r5 cents each. Data output includes all the information normally ap- pearing 611 utility accounts, such as customer name, ad- dress, due date, account num- ber, as well as gross and net amounts. Customer's portion on in- cludes readings, consumption, flat rate water heater charges and all other pertinent infor- mation relating to the services involved such as hydro, water and sewage. The Utility also receives the billing register with a detailed listing in account number sequence of all accounts billed and all the information relating to them. Participating utilities also receive an edit listing. After the cards` are marked sensed pun- ched they are processed on the computer to detect errors. Various ether conditions are checked such as improperly marked cards, present reading less than previous and similar situations. Corresponding error messages are printed. Totals of the credits and arrears are also printed on the edit list. It all began in late 1968 when London P.U.C. decided that its computer, rented at a .mIN. • cost of $4,000 wasn't being kept WI It was decided to package program that process the billi utilities.
