Seaforth Optimist's First Annual Canoe Race down the
Bayfield river recently when the lead canoe paddled by
Nick and Isaac Enns of Aylmer upset near a fallen tree east

attracted 80 entries. The Enns uprighted their canoe and
finished the 18 mile race despite the bone -chilling water.

students also gave a "number of
food demonstrations 11•nd Miss

was selected as -the top demon-
strator by the Ontario Dietetic
Association. Her prize was
presented by Mrs,. Doreen
Wilson from RR 1, Springfield.
The always popular
agricultural displays were sup-
ported this year by the three
cross bred calves loaned by S.
Brand cif RR 5, Forest. They,
along ,with a welding demon-
stration provided plenty of ac-,
ti(Ni for inter e.aed -tllda'ntS 'and
parents. Many other display;
focussing on the agricultural
course and farming in Ontario
were also present.
The -Junior Year Hematology
display was judged the best in
the Animal Health Technology
Building. Dr," R. • Moore,
Animals for Research Branch
with,., the Ministry of
Agriculture and Food was on
hand to do the judging. The
live surgery demonstration was
also a highlight of the Animal
Health Technology displays.
Primarily a "student effort,
the Open House presentation
was truly excellent. It was both
a learning experience and an
enjoyable time for all.
