The above piart is one of the alternatives presented by The
Save The Jail Society to Huron County Council whMMh would
leave the jail wall standing and still provide the. parking
required by the Huron -Perth Regional Assessment Office. It
is •also believed that additional parking space along the
south side of Gloucester could be gained if the Town of
Goderich was to approve it. The,county's proposal would
construct the new addition to the assessment building on
the east side of the presont building and would necessitate
tearing down the one exercise yard and part of the wall: Ex-
tra parking would also be provided on the east side of the
present building as well as on the north. The Save The Jail
Society met with the Property Committee of county council
last week and it is understood that a•recommendation from
that meeting °will to Goderich Town Council for con- ..
sideration, possibly at this" evening's Committee meeting -
(Thursday, April 12). ..
