Each member of Parliament in their remarks paid tribute to the work of the Legion in the community. Mr. McKinley that their was a back log stated of Vets Pension applications but additional staff will solve this problem. The meeting learned that Legion Branches -may as of June 1, 197:3 grant associate membership (.0 the sons aryl daughters of veterans .eligible to join the Legion as ordinary members. District. Commander Russell congratulated the Legion Bran- ches•on their work in the-corn- murni-ty particularly those ac- tivities involving youth but warned Branches to not forget that the chief aim of the Legion is the Welfare of the War Veteran and those they left depended.
