Dear Can't Sign: I don't feel
t hat you would be lowering
yourself in the least nor would
you appear jealous, if you had a

Dear Ann Landers: Here is a
question that has had ole sear-
ching for an answer for weeks. I
can't find it anyplace, and 1
don't wish to ask anyone.

The residents of two neigh-
boring townships in Huron
County will go to the polls
during the next two months to
decide a liquor question.
Goderich township voters will
make ,their decision April 25
and voters in Colborne town-
ship will cast their votes May
,30- Both voting days are Wed-
nesdays.
Colborne Township) Council
recently -received-- a petition
requesting a liquor plebiscite
but turned it back on grounds
that many of those signing it
had done so incorrectly in a
number of cases, signing Mr.
, and Mrs. rather than in the
way their names appear on the
voters list, and that many .of-
, those signing were not residents
of the township but merely
property owners Icottagers).
Since that time, however the
petition has been redrawn and
the council 'has received word
from the Liquor Board that the
vote may now, proceed.
Step number one will be the
enumeration of voters in the
municipality. In neighboring
Goderich township the council
received permission to use the
voter s' list drawn up for the
recent Provincial by-election
rather than go to the time and
expense of another
enumeration. In Colborne
-However an -enumeration -will
have to be carried out -since it
did not lie within the boundry
„of Huron riding. -
In, both plebiscites voters will
vote for or against three
questions listed on the ballot.
The sale.of beer and'wine (?nlv,
under a dining room licence
(with meals), sale of liquor un-
der a dining room licence (with
meals) and the sale of liquor
under a lounge licence.
In order for any of the
questions to c ry into law they
must. receive t1i support of 60
percent.of those casting ballots.
In Goderich township 1,200
voters will • be eligible .to east
votes but the final number of
voters eligible in Colborne will
not be'" known until- the
enumeration is carried out.
