One of the items leading to
the large provincial deficit is
that of Iyledicare. Mr. Nixon in
his debate to the Throne
Spee0h proposed some- changes
for Medicare stating that doc-
tors should he allowed to hill
the Province on a fee-for-
service basis but there would be
st vearly limit to the amount
the Province would spend. If
the portion of the health fund
-'ptoy idecf for p`hy'sic ians
becomes depleted in _the last
quarter of the year, only a per-
centage of the hills would be
paid in that quarter, Mr. Nixon
said. He continued that instead
of placing alldoctc►rs on salary
the fee-for-service principle of
payment would be continued
but with constraints.

This picture taken by the Signal -Star photographer just last week indicates the way the
waters of Lake Huron are gradually eating away the lakefront bank. The Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority has advised the Town of Goderich to consult the federal govern-
ment concerning the problem, but will continue to investigate the erosion and do what it
can to, alleviate the washout action.(staff photo)
