Vern had several complimentary things to say about Goderich and the hockey ,ournament.4 When asked what he thought of this tournament he replied "this is the oldest and best pee- wee 'tournament in Ontario." "The organizers are tops and very co-operative to work with and they certainly deserve more recognition for the fine job they do. "In his opinion, "the tour- nament is run very professionally and in all ,mX years - of -hockey association, I've never heard one complaint about it." Vern is a very busy man in hockey circles and said that he was very fortunate to get the 'time off to "make this ap- pearance in Goderich. From •the. middle of August to the middle of April he works at hockey from about 8:30 in the morning to 1:30 the next mor- ning. During the summer, he lines up the European teams that will play in Canada during the Coming season. According to Vern, there are about 150,000 boys par- ticipating in O.M.H.A. play this year on about 8,000 different teams. He has been involved in • the O.M.H.A. four 14 years. Hockey is in his blood however and he likes e it although it is a great deal of work. His advice to young hockey players is to get all the education they can because only about one boy in --15,000 actually makes it to the National Hockey League. This was Vern's first visit to Goderich and he thinks that it is a very pretty town. • Earn while you learn • Guaranteed employment at $10,000 on graduation • MARINE NAVIGATION TECHNOLOGY • MARINE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY • 14 months paid sailing experience Discussion on necklines The Goderich 4 Fashion Flashers 4-H held their fourth meeting at Holl;v Elliott's house on March 19.
