BUILDING
COMIiNG DOWN
Kintail's oldest building, the
former office and residence of
the late Dr. A.A.J. Simpson and
Mrs. Flora -Simpson • is this
week being dismantled by
Robert Simpson and other
members of the family. Since
the building was very close to
the highway it was thought ad-
visable to disrntantle it rather
than repair the old building.
Oldest history to be found on
the Wilding, was when it was
..Whitt:y's Gement!. Stores It also
contained a bank and a post of-
fice. Mr. yhitty was postmaster
until 1.10 when Mr. Neil
MacDonald was- appointed to
the poson
The postiti. office was then
moved to MacDonald's hotel '
and Whitty's estate sold the
building to Dr. Simpson for an
office and residence. Here Dr.
Simpson practised medicine un-
til his death in 1941. •
The family continued to use
•the building until the death of
their son Arthur in 1970.
Many Kintail residents still
remember his flourishing,
