Stet) dancing by Bill Johnstone of Kintail and by Mrs. Russell Swan followed by round dancing brought another Irish celebration to a close. `Phis ..past weekend saw the worst snow storm of the winter. Roads- were blocked; visibility nil, and everyone was advised to stay at home unless it was absolutely necessary to go out. As if things weren't bad enough with snow, the strong winds and sleet disrupted hydro and telephone lines, and many had no means of com- munication as telephone repair men are not on duty on weekends. COUNTRY CLUB Sure 'n begorrah, St. Patrick blew his way 'into Goderich last weekend and when the leprechauns arrived, they had a heck (af a time jetting out, didn't they'' Quite a number of little green people were still cavorting around Goderich late Sunday .Bertha McGee and her com- mittee did a terrific. job- on, decorations, Beryl Harper's ars tistic talents were in evidence in various posters around the club, add to that the musical talent of the- piano_ player ['of the sing -song and all in all a truly Irish mood 'pervaded. The hors d' oeuvres, on Friday evening, compliments of the Bedford Hottil were simply delicious. Winner' first draw, Hill Taylor, Bill Gardner, Eric Moore, Len Bowman. Winners second draw, Al. Durst, Tom Jasper, Dan Mur- phy, Mel Bogie. Club Grill 2 --' - Sifto Salt won the Pee Wee House League Championship with 'a convincing 6-2 win over CO) Grill. Larry McGee scored one goal and assisted on three othersals, and Brian Sowerby scored two goals and hiid ,4an assist, t(flead the way, Two overlapping penalties were ,,charged to Sifto in the opening minutes of play. Club Grill put the pressure on and had several good opportunities but were --unable to score. Sifto scored' the first goal midway through the first period when Ricky Stoddard's pass ' from behind the net was deflected into the net by a Club Grill player. On the second goal, Brian Sowerby took a pass from McGee near the red line, heat a Club Grill player at the hoards and weft in all alone to pick the corn In the on the short side: bd period, Brian Residen Electric He Reid's pass from behind the net was deflected into the net by. a Club Grill player. Sowerby and Lonnie Fisher drew assists on this goal. Larry McGee scored the prettiest- goal cif the night when he picked up ..the puck near the reel line, went around two Club Grill players, to score unassisted Fisher was in position in front of the net to whack in ,n;, s; .ee's pass for the fifth goal. A' similar play -resulted in Sifto:s last goal when McGee passed to Fisher foi° a shot on the net. Sowerhv picked up -the rebound and scored his secdnd goal. In the third period, Club Grill came back to score two goals. Their' first goal carne when the Sifto Defence was caught out of position allowing three ('lub Grill players to be free in. front of the _net. Torn Doherty scored from Bedard and Duncan. Sifto again took overlapping penalties in the last minutes of the game and'.
