cruise for a rest. They have
every minute of your day and
nite organized so well you just
hate to miss anything -- so you
do your resting when you get
home.
What a wonderful trip I
never expected to ever see it —
and it was a real education. -
Believe it or not I was not
seasick and that sure is
something when I can't cross
from The ,Tub to south
Baymouth without feeling
squeamish.
For several days we had
some rough seas, the Captain
even went several hundred
miles off.. course to miss a bad
storm. 1 had no idea that we
were to be on the high seas so
long. Monday Jan. 29 we sailed
for Port au Prince, Haiti on the
SS Emerald Seas a beautiful 2
stacker.
We had a very nic6 stateroom
with 2 portholes, yet, and we
were very high above the navy
blue water. Real nice. There
were two large lounges for
music listening and, dancing
and a big ballroom. Also a
Discotheque Bar and (with
dance floor) lounge..
The 'cinema was on the very
bottom deck, Sauna and gym.
on Crew deck above it. Coral
deck had no portholes, friends
we travelled with were on this
deck and the rooms, were small.
Topaz- deck was also cabins and
hospital — I know — I visited
it — the 'Hospital' that is.
Ruby deck held one quarter
of ships length for the dining
room . Emerald deck besides
staterooms had a beauty salon
and childreris playroom -- aft
— and our stateroom was in.
the forward quarter on this
deck. Sun deck was above us
with the info. office — (which.
was sending messages to you
every few minutes) the shop-
ping . centre, Aquamarine
Discotheque, swimming 1)001
and French Cafe.
Rainbow deck was above this

with Mayfair Ballroom, game
room and 'duty free' shop, Ren-
dezvous Bar, Club Aquarius
and Rainbow Lounge.
Aquamarine deck was for
sunbathing and walking, boat
drill etc, -and the Bridge with
Radio Room, Captain and all
the other handsome fellows in'
'their spiffy whites.
Our dinner time was 6:15 —
and what a dinner. For that
matter EVERY meal was like
visiting and ,dining in some
posh hotel: Just out of thi.
world — and the attendants
two mostly French and
Italian, I think, and very at-
tentive. WOW!
Coffee on deck for early
risers and our breakfast was at
7 a.m. Morning exercises and
coffee or bouillon.— with sweet
rolls at the -swimming pool —
take it both ways!
I -never made it, but only
missed breakfast 2 or 3 times,-
you
imes,_you could always get my type of
"Continental breakfast" later.
Wednesday morning we landed
at Port au Prince, Haiti and
sailed for the Virgin Islands. at
4 p.m. Bingo and floor show -
then dancing or listening in the
evening. There was always
passenger participation en-
couraged and programs plan-
ned especially for us.
"So You Want To Lead a
Barid", Costume Party and
Gala Passenger Talent Show
were three of the highlites. You
wouldn't believe the talent that
was aboard that ship.
I learned a great many things
— MAYBE I'II tell you about
them. Friday morning we
arrived at St. Thomas, V.I.
This was a real pleasure, no
one pushing stuff you didn't
want at you or begging for
quarters — it was lovely. Haiti
with their Independance is
sinking into poverty and hate
for what I could see. Nice for a
quick visit, keep calm, don't try
to change their way of living or
thinking and"try to leave them
with a smile., Hard to do.
St. Thomas was beautiful. It
was just as (I hope) tourists are
treated in Goderich, pleasant
and courteous, allowed to roam
or relax at wilrand go home
with pleasant memories.
Nassau was at Sunday evening
'and you could go to the Native
garters show or to the Casino.
e chose the Casino, I can' see
the other shows on T.V.
The Casino is beyond your
imagination --- as was the stage
Show. They have the most
beautiful people there and ,the
girls chocolate of– pink were
from dreamsville!
So beautiful you didn't
realize ,they were naked or
nearly so. 'Bye Now— Love
Martha.
