tour. Originally from Hamilton
Mr. and Mrs. Montour lived at
Point Clarke before moving to

Mrs. Brian Black. Mr. Mon-
tour, who is employed at
Douglas Point, and Mrs. Mon-
tour have three pre school

schools has been having public
speaking or orat com-
munications lately and the -win-
ners then advance to further
,competitions. Each one who
competes gains training y and
valuable experience.

Mrs. Tony Miltenburg on the
birth of a baby boy in Wingham
and District Hospital on Mon-
day, Jantiary 29, 1973.
Youth Sunday was observed
in the United Church on Sun-
day with special music by the
choir accompanied by Donna
Errington onher electric
guitar. Elaine Stewart and
Frances Logtenburg read the
two scripture lessons, -and the
Drennan trio provided extra
music. Rev. Clarence
McClenaghan's sermon was en;
titled, "The Choice."
A birthday party was held for
John MacKay of Kintail on
Saturday night when a group oT
neighbours of Kintail and Ash-
field went to the home of Dun-
can MacKay at Auburn. An en-
joyable time was had by -all -
with pipers Dave MacDonald,
D.A. MacLennan and Johnny
MacKay who with his wife was
present from London.
Miss Dianne Vassella of
-Toronto spent theweekend
with her parents Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Vassella.
The Grade 8's of our school
and Mrs. Shaddick's Grade
sevens are planning and
working on geography •
projects. They sent away for in-
formation to various states and
have been receiving the infor-
mation throughout the past few
.weeks.
Mrs. Shaddick's Red Cross
Club are holding a jelly bean
raffle for the students of Rober-
tson school.

who came'out to see our opera
and play and gave us their full -
hearted supporta
The basketball season has
started for the senior boys,
grades seven and eights, and
we are happy to see the number
of players participating. There,
are. twelve_ teams with an
average of six to seven players
per team. We hope that this
participation will continue and
the season will be a success
with many exciting games.

very happy recently when they
approached him leaving Maple
Leaf Gardens and he took time
to sign autographs for them.

designed to find specific areas

Ken Brindley of Sarnia was a
weekend visitor at his parental
home here and visited his
father Mr. Gordon Brindley
who had undergone surgery in
the Goderich Hospital and is
reported progressing
favourably.
We are glad • to report Mrs.
Eric Reaburn has returned,
home from Victoria Hospital
where surgery and is
evening, January 30.

opened the meeting and the
minutes of last meeting were -
'read and approved.
The Bylaw has been ap-
proved that Colborne Township
Recreation Committee be a
recognized body, consisting .of
Mrs. John Hazlitt; President,
Mrs. Gordon Kaitting;.
Secretary, Miss Helen Brindley.
Mr. Grant MacP,hee and Mr.
Wm. Bogie; re resentatives
from Colborne Township Coun-
cil.
One of the projects the Com-
mittee are considering is a
Hiking Trail along the
Maitland River from Saltford
to Benmiller, or the Conser-
vation Area; and land owners
will be approached in this
regard.
A ,Snowmobile Club was
another project . under
discussion and trust will soon
be a reality. Anyone -in the
Community interested irr'either
of these projects is asked to
contact any member of the
Committee, who would
welcome your interest. Several
other projects were discussed
,and will be 'reported at next
meeting.

Leaders. course, "Working with

holI a parents night Wed-
nesday February 14 beginning
at 8:00 p.m: All parents are
urged to attend this event.
Colborne Central School will
also be sponsoring a weekly
sorts night. The sports ac-
tivities got underway this Wed-
nesday and will continue each
Wednesday until the March
school break, with the excep-
tion of February 14.

Students Council of Colborne
Central Schorll will sponsor a

grades five to eight. The dance
