Mary Anne O'Keefe from Western University, London, daughter was hone this weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Q' Keefe. Youth Sunday was observed in the United Church on Sun- day with special music by the choir accompanied by Donna Errington onher electric guitar. Elaine Stewart and Frances Logtenburg read the two scripture lessons, -and the Drennan trio provided extra music. Rev. Clarence McClenaghan's sermon was en; titled, "The Choice." A birthday party was held for John MacKay of Kintail on Saturday night when a group oT neighbours of Kintail and Ash- field went to the home of Dun- can MacKay at Auburn. An en- joyable time was had by -all - with pipers Dave MacDonald, D.A. MacLennan and Johnny MacKay who with his wife was present from London. Miss Dianne Vassella of -Toronto spent theweekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vassella. The Grade 8's of our school and Mrs. Shaddick's Grade sevens are planning and working on geography • projects. They sent away for in- formation to various states and have been receiving the infor- mation throughout the past few .weeks. Mrs. Shaddick's Red Cross Club are holding a jelly bean raffle for the students of Rober- tson school. On behalf of the teachers and students of Robertson school we would like to take this op- portunity to thank everyone who came'out to see our opera and play and gave us their full - hearted supporta The basketball season has started for the senior boys, grades seven and eights, and we are happy to see the number of players participating. There, are. twelve_ teams with an average of six to seven players per team. We hope that this participation will continue and the season will be a success with many exciting games. The Bylaw has been ap- proved that Colborne Township Recreation Committee be a recognized body, consisting .of Mrs. John Hazlitt; President, Mrs. Gordon Kaitting;. Secretary, Miss Helen Brindley. Mr. Grant MacP,hee and Mr. Wm. Bogie; re resentatives from Colborne Township Coun- cil. One of the projects the Com- mittee are considering is a Hiking Trail along the Maitland River from Saltford to Benmiller, or the Conser- vation Area; and land owners will be approached in this regard. A ,Snowmobile Club was another project . under discussion and trust will soon be a reality.
