When son Doug and Madeline phoned to tell me they'd won a trip to the Carib- bean Seas I was happy for them -- "but, Mother, I am too busy to get away - how about. you going with Madeline" Well, you can imagine that -I might be speechless — flabbergasted is my word .for it - and you are right. Will I be seasick — first worry on the list. A• few years GORDON SINCLAIR aga we made the Tobermory-to Manitoulin Islands trip a couple of times and both times 1 was afraid I, was -going to be sick. The first trip was on the old ship — a long, skinny, high one that appeared to have only its tail in the water. Well it swayed .frorn side to side -- and the lake was calm — don't know how it behaved in a rough sea — and my stomach swayed along with it. I figured the sway made a wide arc upon topside and it should be very little down in the hold the very bottom of the ship. So I found our car and sat. in it but it didn't seem -to make an4ifference. 1 a> ilv .one.... Tour party came and found me and insisted 1 go up on deck in the fresh air.' . . Well, I guess it was all in my mind because I didn't even notice any sway after a short time where everyone was laughing and having fun. So this trip I'm going to reverse the proceedings. I' I h stay on. deck until I'm forced into the hold. Sick or not I'm going to enjoy it. I may be the only little green fat lady wandering around ,hut I'll be smiling! I will keep in touch with you wish you could be as lucky as I, but I've waited all my life for such great surprise, so I hope you will enjoy the whole trip with. me.
