All thirty two-:- turn up faithfully every Wednesday and the four sheets of ice are filled. More impor- tant these gals are really - having fun! Shela ;h Sully and Bertha McGee deserve a lot of credit for their efforts on behalf of this pay as you play draw. From all reports, the Thursday evening Industrial League is enjoying the same degree of success. , Have been taken to task for not reporting the winners in each of the various draws and I do apologize.If the' conveners willcel s an r me Willi 're scores, e 1 shall be only too pleased to include' same in the write up. Have you signed up for the Alexander and Chapman mixed jitney to be held on Saturday, February 3? We need a few more curlers ti fill both draws. In mentioning the St. Patrick Weekend Bonspiel last week, I erred in stating that there would be three games on the Saturday. Curlers are guaran- teed three games: one on Friday evening and two on Saturday. Thanks Mona. - MINOR HOCKEY The Goderich Bantam B team played the Clinto'ii Ban- tam B team to 3'3'tie on Mon- day night Feb. 22. The goal scorers for Goderich were Benny Worsell, Bill Gauley and Steve Chase. On Tuesday night they jour- neyed to Zurich to play and wound up on the short side of a 7-5 score against the Zurich A team. Flashing the red light for Goderich was Benny Worsell, Bill Gauley, Steve Chase, Paul Schaefer and Jeff Harrison. On Saturday at 6 p.m. the Goderich Bantam B team were host to the' Dearborn Heights Bantams. The Goderich team were. victors by a score of 8-1. Denting the twine for Goderich were Steve Chase and Rick Elliott with two goals each; single goals were scored by Bill Gauley, Steve Meriam, Randy. , Carroll and Ken. Shelton. The Dearborn • Heights goal was scored by Mark Radzwion ..;assisted by Nicky Dalosio. The same teams played again in the Clinton Arena on Sun- day. Local skaters pass exams ontest day Several Goderich Figure Skaters were successful in passing preliminary figures and dance routines at the Test Day ,held here last Saturday, January 27th. Linda Vance and Cheryl Munroe were successful in passing their Preliminary Figures.- Susan Firiarer was Sticcessful in passing the Dutch Waltz and Canasta. Those also passing the Dutch Waltz were, Christy Bobby, Margaret Conlon and Sherry Kotyk. Tracey McEwan passed the Canasta. The Swing dance- was passed by Valerie Raftry and Tammy Ellison. Dipping into their bag of basketball tricks during 'the Cuties' local appearance will be such tour veterans as Dottie • Dribble, Leaping Lena, Dinah Sore, Hefty Helen, and Scaggie Maggie. The cutest Cutie of them all is the popular Little Susie, who stands only 38 inches high but the GDCI auditorium. The game is being sponsored by the ' GDCI Student's Council. The funeral service was held Wednetiday in Trivett Memorial Anglican Church, Exeter, -for Mrs. Honor Jen- ningwho passed away i -s n her 81st year at the Canadian Nur- sing Home; Chatham, on Mon- day, January 29. Rev. George Anderson officiated. Interment 'was in Exeter Cemetery. Formerly of Exeter, she was predeceased- by her husband, Harry Jennings. Surviving are four daughters:, Mrs. Paul (Rose) Hili of Goderich; Mrs. Maurice (Jessie) Tiedeman of Grand Bend; Mrs. John (Connie) Hucltins of Scarborough; Mrs. Sidney (Dorothy) Turner of St. Catharines; three sons: Rev. Officer Woods will give a small talk on how he sees the question of drugs and drug abuse from where. he sits, After the opening speech the policeman will ' answer 'questions from the audience. We are not necessarily trying to create a "hot seat" situation wish to give everyone present a better understanding of the•---drug--laws- and -of a policeman's' duties. This seminar will take place in the parlour at Knox Presbyterian Church at 730 p.m. A short film will be shown and we hope that many interested and con- cerned people will show up. If you are interested give us a call or drop in and let us know who you are. Then we can get together and see if such a project is feasible and proceed to hold a meeting of all the in- terested youth and adults in the area: The only way Goderich will ever consider a permanent youth center . is if enough people...: generate the right amount of concern within the town. So, if you are in-' terested, let us_khow and we will get theings going. RECREATION The current program being supervised at North Street Gym 'by the Recreation Committee is going well. Due to the success of the program .to date, we would .like to- provide a wider variety of activities. Any .,,, donations of sports equipment arts -and ` crafts materials, or ideas for new activities would be appreciated.
