at the annual meeting when the
members of •the Women's
Auxiliary of Alexandra General
and Marine Hospital reviewed
the year's work.
The Gift Shop, located inside
of the main door to the
hospital, and the Gift Cart,
which is taken to the patients
on the floors, continue to be a
good source of revenue. Calen-
dars were sold in the fall. The
annual Penny Sale and Tea
were held in May.
The Auxiliary appreciates
the support of the citiiens of
Goderich in these projects, the
proceeds _of, which enabled the
women to present the following
to the hospital: an electro car-
--diograph,a hydrocollator, an
orthatron, a venfirneter, and
books for the medical library.
The cost of these 'gifts was
a V
$2,869.50.. A diagnostic set
was given in memory of the late
Mrs. A..A. Nicol.
A bursary of $100.00 was
presented to a Huron County
student attending the Perth -
Huron School of Nursing.
The Auxiliary sponsors the
Candystripers, a group of
'teenage girls who do volunteer
service in the hospital. - A tea
was held in their- honor and
awards were - presented for
hours of service. Two Can-
dystripers who chose nursing as
a career were given engraved
surgical 'ssors.
Members attended district
and provincial conferences, and
assisted at the graduation exer-
cises of the Perth,Huron School

Speakers, both entertaining
and educational, were heard at
the monthly meetings.
A, group of women sew and
mend for the hospital and their
services are much appreciated.
The Auxiliary is gratefu • to
non-members who assist with
this project.

In a quiet ceremony in the
United Church at Londesboro
on Saturday, Dec. 30,1972
Helen Doreen Cooper, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs.""W.T. Cooper,
Goderich (formerly Toronto)
became the bride of Glenn
William Gibson, son of the late
Mr. and' Mrs. Jim Gibson,
Blyth.
Rev. Stanley McDonald of -
ficiated. Attending the bride
and groom were Mr. and Mrs.
James Scott Jr. of Goderich
(formerly RR , 1, Blyth).
The wedding reception was
held at the home of the bride's
parents with a few close friends.
and relatives attending.
The honeymoon trip is to
follow later 4in the spring. The
newlyweds will reside on West-
moreland Street in .,Blyth.
Volunteers from the Clinton
Christian Reformed Church
and Mrs. Eliner Dale helped
with activities at Monday' after-
noon's get-together.
Marie Flynn, Mary Taylor
and Norman Spier provided the
music for the old tyme, dance r
and a sing -song of Scottish
numbers in honour of Robbie
Burns birthday. HappyaBirth-
day was- sung for those
celebrating, with special men-
tion to Mrs. Leah Robertson,
Miss McKenzie and Miss
Deacon, who are over 90.
On Family. Night a special
Robbie Burns' program,
arranged by Jim Lawrie of
Blyth, was enjoyed by everyone,
those that are Scottish and the
ones that wish they were. Mr.
frequent guest on. the
CKNX—TV program, "Circle
Light"., was all decked out in
his kilt, singing a cumber of
Scottish favourites, - as well as
chairman for the evening.

program were step -dancing,

solo, Angela- Duttman; vocal
solos, Cheryl Cronin; Scottish
medley, Sylvia and Sherry
Bremmer, Hugh and . James
Wharton; square -dancers,
Karen Young, Christine

Knox, Jaynes Wharton, Tom
Duttman, Nelson Caldwell and
a pianist, Mrs. Grace Brown,
