Reeves and Deputy - Reeves by the dozens. My main thought after looking at these men was that they had the chief interests of their township at heart—and that is GOOD. Oh—there was one lady in• the group. Mrs. Helen Jermyn -a very attractive Deputy reeve from Exeter. The day I attended they were choosing a new warden from among their ranks—and this too, was new and interesting to me. 1 was quite impressed by .the. candidates 'and their r«,.- spe 1>aaa zpeeially.-.Mr Mugh• Flyrip of Hullett Township. Neif Ed Oddleifson Reeve of Bayfield—"Mayor of Bayfield," I think Mr.,. Berry teased him—I liked his presen- tation and I don't know why - but he reminded me of Joe Allaire and a great many people in this end of the coun- try will remember Joe. Joe was a fighter and I. believe helped to, give us our NorthRead to the -Harbour. January 26, THIS Friday Goderich Building Centre and KFC Juveniles each picked. up two victories last week to remain tied for first placer Building Centre who 'defeated Hplmesville.6-1 and Bayfield 5- 2 have 11 -wins and three losses for 22 points. The Juveniles, 10-2-2, defeated Sifto Salt 7-3 and DR - MCO 9-4. DRMCO holds down third spot with 17 points on 8 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie. Bayfield is in _fourth spot with 10 points on 4 wins, 9 losses and 2 ties. Holmesville is, 1 point behind Bayfield with 9 _mints. Hirst we phoned the television station---that-httd run the "Magic Mouse" C010inercial. They told us they had already cancelled the cc nlntercial because-- similar-coni'hlaints. Since the advertiser (a U.S. company) did not reply -"to our inquiry* we issued. an 'urgent' bulletin requesting all stations to contact us before accepting advertising from this onipan'y. The Goderich Building Cen- tre outscored Holmesville 4-1 in the first period and coasted -to a 6-1 victory over Holmesville last Tuesday, January 16 in Clinton. Paul Corriveau scored twice, ,Brian, Schimdt and Rick Sowerby each added , a goal and two assists to lead Building Centre. John Phillips, Denis Lassaline .and Rick Sowerby scored the other Building Centre goals: Bi11 Stet nstra scored ,, for John Phillips opened the scoring at 3:37 of the first with an unassist effort. ' Rick Sowerby scored Building Cen- `tre's second goal at 6:45 from Brian Schimdt. Brill Steenstra scored Holmesville's only goal at 7:55 from T ny Verhoef and Jim Mclvor. Brian Schimdt. scored at :41 from Mark Lassaline to make the score 3- 1. Paul Corriveau rounded out the scoring in the first period with his first goal at 9:40 from Rick Sowerby and Buck Million. Corriveau scored the only goal of the second period from John Phillips and Rick Sowerby at 11:16. Brian Schimdt set up Denis Lassaline for Building.4entre's sixth goal at 1•:51 of the third period. -Each team was assessed two minor penalties. The KFC Juveniles picked up their third win of the year over Sifto Salt by a score of -7-3 to keep pacewith Building Centre last. Wednesday evening, .January 17. Paul Kelly opened thesc:oring-at 11:30 of the first period. Bruce Bowman made it 2-0 fifteen seconds later from Al Shelton. Dan Duncan scored his first of two goals at 13:24. 'unassisted. Duncan up- ped the .Juveniles lead to four at 2:03 of the second from Tim McAstocker. Wayne .Draper scored Sifto Salt's first goal at 2:28. Ron` Whetstone cut the -Juveniles lead to two at 6:11\ unassisted. Paul .Kelly scored his second` goal of the galtitosar, the 29 second mark of the third • ,,.. period from Bruce Bowman. Ron . Kelly scored three, Shelton two and Bowman one. Mark Fisher, Barry Walls and Sam Meriam scored the other' -Juvenile goals. Fisher's goal was a slapshot from the point and Wall's was the best goal of the game. . He deflected Jim Denomy's slapshot in the lower left hand corner. Ken Lee scored twice for DRMCO and , Dave Graf and John Hodge ad- ded the other goals. In the second •game last Sun- day, Building Centre scored three unanswered goals in the third, period to break a 2-2 tie with Bayfield. Denis; Lassaline and Paul Corriveau Lassaline opened the scoring at 5:55 and Paul Corriveau made it 2-0 at 10:22. Both goals were unassisted. Don Freeman put Bayfield on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal at 13,59 cif the first period. . Don Crawford scored the only goal of the second period at 8:49 from Doug Stoll. Brian Schimdt scored the winner at 8:47 of the third unassisted . 'Denis Lassaline scored his second goal at 13:48 from Rick Sowerby. Paul Corriveau scored Building Centre's fifth goal at 15:20 from Mark Lassaline. This Sti-ndatra. evening, --- January 28 should provide some good action. In the first game, Bayfield plays DRMCO at 7:00 p.m. The two top teams will battle it but in the second game at'9:00 p.m. After drop- ping their first game with the Ju'jliles, Building Centre won the next two games. • This will be the final regular season meeting between them~ Sifto Salt plays Holmesville in Clinton on Tuesday, January 30.
