This year 1 attended a Huron
County Council Meeting for the
first time. Reeves and Deputy -
Reeves by the dozens. My main
thought after looking at these
men was that they had the
chief interests of their township
at heart—and that is GOOD.
Oh—there was one lady in• the
group. Mrs. Helen Jermyn -a
very attractive Deputy reeve
from Exeter.
The day I attended they were
choosing a new warden from
among their ranks—and this
too, was new and interesting to
me. 1 was quite impressed by
.the. candidates 'and their

Neif Ed Oddleifson Reeve of
Bayfield—"Mayor of
Bayfield," I think Mr.,. Berry
teased him—I liked his presen-
tation and I don't know why -
but he reminded me of Joe
Allaire and a great many
people in this end of the coun-
try will remember Joe. Joe was
a fighter and I. believe helped
to, give us our NorthRead to
the -Harbour.
But back to Mr. Oddleifson,, I
can see him cine day as Warden
of ,Huron Cougty:
.Everett McIllwain and Roy
Pattison are two old timers
who, have worked for 'years for
their townships and this made
it a four way race for sure, with
Roy Pattison winning.
As I said before, I felt they
