They aren't calling it Ladies'
Keep Fit. this year. They are_
calling it "dancercize" and
although this combination of
exercise and dancing is geared
to keep ladies, fit, it comes un-
der the heading of fun for all.
Mrs. Bessie Hoad is the in-
structor in, charge of dancercize
at GDCI Night. School each

"They really work hard,"
claims Mrs. Hoad.
When you first walk into the
big gym during dancercize, you
wonder if you haven't by some
miracle escaped from the snow
and cold of Ontario to some
languid South Sea hideaway,

in a most rewarding way.

ages and capabilities enrolled
but Mrs. Hoad has a program

For the girls in dancercize,
though, it is a time to concen-
trate on floor exercise -
breathing, muscle toning,

relaxing.
As the 'class progresses, you
note the supple bodies and the
smiling faces, for grace of
movement is one of the end
products of , the dancercize
program.
"Pull, pull, • pull," orders
Mrs. Hoad .... but the smiles
remain and the -gracefullness
isn't sacrificed.
"At your own speed," warns
the instructress as the
program's motto is enforced.
Later, the music changes to
something a little more lively
and with the new atmosphere
conies another part of the
program - the dance. A wide

As a school boy in Medicine Hat, Alta., Al Cherny studied clas-
sical violin and played in the school orchestra. Then, one day
he heard some "old time" fiddling. From then ora he was hooked
on old time fiddling, performing on CHAT Radio in Medicine Hat
then on CKNX, Wingham, Ont., and the International Old Time
Fiddling Contest in Shelburne where he twice captured both ,the
old time and novelty classes during two successive years. Now
he's seen each Friday night at nine on CBC -TV's The Tommy
Hunter Show. -
