Goderich Town Council, most of them to ap- point committees within the municipality for the next .few years. Deputy -reeve Stan Profit made one comment that in his opinion, council was passing "too many bylaws too quickly". Although Reeve Deb Shewfelt told Profit there had been plenty of time prior to the meeting to become acquainted with the content of the bylaws, „Profit disagreed and said that there hadn't been enough time for him to study the` names of the committee members for the coming terms. Councillor Leroy Harrison brought - with him a clipping about Toronto City Council where citizens of that municipality were invited to apply for jobs on the various committees. l Te suggested that Goderich ;,Town Council might adopt a •similar policy .so; that interested persons . who are ready and- willing to serve, would be able to inform council members of their interest. Councillor Elsa Haydon told Harrison that many people had been contacted with regard to serving on committees, but that most had declined to serve. -Harrison countered with his belief that it is not always the interested citizens who are con- tacted, simply because they are not known by council members. The following' appointanerats.- .were made by --bylaw: Harry Bosnell will be coun- cil's representative to Alexan- dra Marine and General Hospital Board for a period of one year; - Edward Stiles and Clayton Edward will be members of the Maitland Cemetery Board for 'a" period of three years, term to end December 31, 1975: Frank Bowra and Bob Jef- fery were appointed to the Committee of Adjustment for a period of three years, term to end January 1, 1976; y iu i11ux.E ank.,a Wa.lkom will be coyncil's representative on ,the Maitland Valley Co vation Authority for a term two years, until January 1975; G-oderich .:Area Plann Board—Gus Chisholm (n Bent Such and- Ed Giesbr: for three year terms; Bert W sell, Charlie Snell and Vi Young (new) for two y. t±✓rms; and Ebb Ross a David Gower, councj representative, for 'one y. terms (Mayor Harry Worsell an ex officio member of committee and all commit Goderich Tourist Com.. tee—Leroy Harrison (coun p), Bert Such; Malcolm Ca pbell, Howard Aitken, Cott., and Paul Baechler Im just six members; down fr eight with the resignation Carlyle Bannister and Wal Westbrook who were replaced) appointed for ,years; Goderich "-Recreation a Community Centre iPPid—, D,eput v-reetve $ rott, ounc111pr 13111 Cliff Bruno Lapaine (new, repla Mike Vrooman.), lion Ru Pete McCauley,, Do Cruickshank, Mrs. Emily C and Mrs. Mary- Donnelly In replacing Mrs. Martha Ra burn) all appointed for years; Industrial Commission -G don McManus, Ben.
