ROUND AND ABOUT WITH M.ARTHA
immlimmimminommin
Is the rip and tear, of getting
things ready for Christmas get-
ting
etting you down? I know just how
you feel.
I'm going to change the sub-
ject and see if it will go away,
not ' goiii ' to say a word'About
hating to buy. gifts - (because
every time I buy one I change
my mind'about it as soon as I
see something else) and I'm
tired of thinking about all those
cards staring me in the face --I
can't just SEND a caird'- I have
to TALK to them - and that
takes a lot of time.
I won't mention how much I
suffer trying`to think of just the
right thing for each person -
(and then end up by sending
money or a gift .certificate, or
how I hate the commercial at-
mosphere created for Christ-
mas of today.
No one would believe the
things I have been making or
creat g ft'. y opecial family
and friends - which will never •
be finished on time and they
will never know about them.
All this procrastinating takes
a lot. out of a person - and
altho' I love them all - I'm a
total wreck - a total loss!

Now, you know why this
holiday . is so hard on me and
the reason for my being so tired
out after Christmas that I. need
a holiday. Enough said,
Well, - "I" should complain
about Christrnas.• I just saw
of my friends in hospital and
there are several others very ill
that I know aren't going to en-
joy
the. holidays and now I
feel like crawling under a
Christmas tree and staying
there.
The other evening my bridge
playing, friend, Toots, wife of
Gordie Bedard, (well known for
their handy store on Britannia
Road), decided to hang a few
more pretty baubles and stood
upon a foot stool to do it,' She'
now has a left arm broken near
the shoulder and the wrist and
I can't say what happened to
the footstool with its broken
leg.
Recently. Doe Queen, well
known in Goderich, especially
to those who alley bowl, slipped
on a wet basement floor.
Luckily husband Jim rushed
her: to hospital right away and
she is now learning to use crut-
ches. A badly broken ankle and
many weeks in a cast sort of
takes the "Merry" out of
Christmas.
So, here's a change of pace
The next play for Goderich Lit-
tle Theatre takes place about
the end of February. The first
meeting was held for the new
play which has comedy, pathos
and drama all tied into one
story.
