field Twp. was the setting for a
lovely wedding on December 2,
19•r,2. Purple flowers inset in
white satin bows marked the
pews reserved for the guestson
the aisle, down which • Diane
Ruth Zinn walked •with her
father to become the bride of
Ronald John ;Ferguson.. White
gladiolus, white and mauve
mums and white candles made
a beautiful background for the
3 o/clock double ring ceremony
performed by Rev. James Hum-
mel.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Warren Zinn,
cR.R. 2, Lucknow, and Mr. and
Mrs. Emerson Ferguson, R.R. 1
Clifford are the parents of the
groom.
Miss Ruth Alton presided at
the organ, and Miss Mary Anne
Alton sang "0 Perfect Love,..
before the ceremony and
"We've Only Just Begun"
during the signing of the
register.
The bride wore a floor length
wedding gown of white sheer
o.irganza. The high standup
collar and the cuffs of the full
length sleeves were trimmed in
delicate daisy patterned swiss
guipure lace. The bodice was
'accentuated by -vertical trim of
chantilly .14,e,e.. The graceful A-
line skirt was •edged with the
Swiss guipure lace, as was the
cathedral train. Her shoulder -
length veil was held in place by
a Juliet cap. She carried a pur-
ple orchid surrounded by white
and purple sprayed carnations
in a cascade formation.
Miss Bonnie Maize , friend of
the bride was maid, of honour.
The bridesmaids were Miss
Sandra Keith, cousin of the
bride and Miss Rosalea
Hackett, friend of the bride,
Miss Lynn Alton was flower
girl. The bridal attendants
were gowned alike in A-line
formal gowns of deep purple
silk velvet with standup collars,
long sleeves ending in a bell:-"
shaped calf at the wrists. They
each „wore a birthstone pin, a
gift From the bride. They
carried a cascade of white
mums and variegated mauve
and purp%,carnations.
Gary Douglas, R.R. 2 Clif-
ford, friend of the groom, was
the best man. Ushers were
Terry Zinn, Lucknow, brother
of the bride and Stephen
Pomery, Kitchener, brother-in-
law of the groom.
The mother of the bride
received the guests for the din-
ner which was catered to by
Trinity U.C.W., in Brookside
Public School Auditorium. She
wore a floor -length, lopg
sleeved gown of lavender peat',
de soie with matching coat. A
white gardenia corsage com-
pleted her ensemble.
The groom's mother wore a •-
formal • length gown of blue
crimplene and a corsage. of pink
carnations.
Some 400 guests attended a
dance later in the evening in
the school auditorium which
was decorated with white bells
-and purple streamers and white
and mauve mums. Music was
supplied by the Ron Jasper
Quintette of 'Stratford and
Blake's U,,.G.W.',provided lunch
after the dance.
For their trip to the Northern
States, the bride changed to a
brown polyester knit dress with
off-white trim., 0.ver her
shoulders she wore an off-white
The couple will reside at Apt.

The groom is employed by
Campbell Transport, Blyth and r
the bride is.on the staff of the -
Regional Assessment . Office.
Guests were present from
Oakville, Geraldton, London,
Kitchener, 'Milton, Oshawa,
Goderich, Clinton, Clifford,
Wingham and Gorrie.
Mrs. Zinn entertained at an
open house for her daughter on
November 28th. Prior to her
marriage, Diane was honoured
by several surprise showers, at
the home of Miss Bonnie Maize
by girl -friends; in Clinton, at
the home of Mrs. .Jim Fit-
zgerald by the, girls of the
Regional Assessment office:
Also in Clinton a kitchen
shower was held by relatives of
the bride. • A large community,
shower was held in Trinitvl
United Church where the bride
received many beautiful and
useful gifts.
We don't have to know the
many people we help through

Golden anniversary
Mr, and Mrs. Arthur L. Tich-
borne of 89 Toronto St.,
Goderich, celebrated their 50th
anniversary with friends and
relatives on Saturday, Decem-
ber 2.
The couple was married
December 2, 1922 by the Rev.
James Hamilton in
Presbyterian Manse; East St.,
Goderich, Their attendants

Township.
A'•fam'rly dinner was _held at
the Maitlan,41 Country Club
followed by "Open House" and
dance.
Mr. and Mrs. Tichborne have
one son, (Bill) at home; . 2
daughters; Viola (Mrs. George
Bell) of Bayfield and Dorothea,
(Mrs. Donald Mc°Arter) of
Brusselsff and five grand-
'children. •
Many cards, gifts, flowers
and telegrams were received by
'the couple,. Among, them .were
flowers and greetings from
Mayor Harry Worsell and
Town. of Goderich. A plaque'
and letter from Premier of On-
tario the Hon. Wm. Davis,
Charles , and Mrs.
MacNaughton, M.P.P. was also
appreciated.,
,Dungannon Women's In-
stitute combined their Christ-
mas party and the celebration
of the 76th anniversary of
Women's Institutes in Ontario
into one gala occasiotn.
On . Wednesday evening
December 6 they entertained
husbands with friends at a
party in Carlow Hall. A
delicious and bountiful turkey
dinner, served by Carlow W.I.
was enjoyed by all. •
Fred Young wen a prize for
having the lueky,cup at dinner.
Elmer Black won on the lucky
..ilnumber draw.
Special guests were Mr. and.
Mrs. Walter Dexter and Mrs.
Wesley Ritchie who -were in-
troduced by Mrs. Wilbur
Brown. Mrs. Ritchie played
"Star .of the -East", ..whirl}. wasy,.
enjoyed by everyone. She
played for a "carol sing" and
also accompanied Mr. Dexter.
Mr. Dexter sang,_ "Take me
Back" and "Galway Bay".
Then he delighted everyone
with' some Harry .Lauder
renditions of "Breakfast in bed
on Sunday morning." "Oh,
She's the lass for me" and
"The reason why I wear a
kilt."
A gift exchange from around
the. attractively decorated
Christmas tree yielded many
pretty and useful presents.
During the playing of euchre,
punch apd 75th anniversary
cake were served to everyone.
High ladies' score was won by
Myrtle Kerr and low by Beth
McConnell. High gent's score
was won by Lorne Hhsty and'
low; by Fred Young. .-:
