The students at St. Mary's Separate School in Goderich
recently completed a fund raising 'campaign in support of
school activity team.events and the possible adoption of an
overseas child. The money was raised through the sales of

Anniversary and the Christmas
party are to be combined. It
will be a dinner and party,
Wednesday, December 6 in
Carlow Hall.
The conveners, Miss Iva Carr
and Miss Beth McConnell,
were in charge of the program.
Miss McConnell gave the
motto, "Think Canadian, Buy
Canadian." She presented
several interesting ideas .and
stated, "Our pioneer ancestors
built something for themselves
and for- .us too and we should..,
continue to do the same." •
. Miss Carr's ' topic was
"United Nations".' She gave an
- excellent and well researched
history of the United Nations.
She told of the beginning of' the
League of Nations and its suc-
cesses and failures. From this
was formed the United Nations .
which today has a membership
of around 1:30 countries.
Miss Carr said that today
more countries than ever before
haye become aware of the need
to care for the environment and -
the needs of others.

don, October 26, 27.
Mrs. Rutledge attended the
short ,course held at Carlow
Nov. 15 and. reported about it.
Mrs. Wilbur Brown was the

Mrs. Rutledge thanked Mrs.
Blake for her kind hospitality,..

many snowmobilers now have
their machines out of -the
garage or basement and into
the, countryside once again, but
with one- oversight.
"Although. they - may have
1972 licence plates," he points
out, "these registration plates
actually expired. October 31."

the Queen's Guineas competition at this year's SOth Annual Royal Agricultural
Winter Fair. She represented Huron County.
