are active groups for the youth

church. Next , Sunday the
Sacrament of, Baptism will be
celebrated. Other activities are
listed on the church bulletin. On
Sunday, December 10, the Sun-
day School will share . in the
church service for White Gift
Sunday.
Misses Ada and Hazel Web-
ster 'Of Lucknew were guests of
Mrs. Cecil Blake and Barbara
on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Grant
Sowerby spent the weekend at

in Goderich township.
On .Thursday Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Kidd from Georgetown'
came for the latter's mother,
Mrs.. John Ryan, who returned
with them for the winter mon-
'ths. Each summer Mrs. Ryan
returns to her own home and
cares for her many outdoor
flowers.
Mr and Mrs. Bert Thompson
of Brantford spent the holiday
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Thompson and Joanne.

was the former Edith Treleaven,
daughter of the late. M. and
Mrs. Samuel Treleaven, for-
merly of this. community. Her
husband' a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Isaac Andrew of Zion,
predeceased her 35 years' ago.
Sympathy is extended to her
family. Rill and John of Ed-
monton, Alta., and Petty (Mrs.
Ward) of Clarkson,. Ontario, and

brick house moved from one side
,of the town to the other. Owned
by Mrs. Emily Cory for many
years it was recently sold to the
Canadian Tire Corporation.

and presented certificates to two
new citizens. Ten citizens are ex -
pected for the next court

.finish off,' our meetings 111
cooking was held at Carlow
Hall on Monday, Nov. 13. The
ineeting opened with the t luh
pledge and the girls introduced
themselves to their guest.
,They invited the 1n-tittitt'
Ladies and the mothers to come
to the party as their guests.
They served casseroles. cookie's
and stews that they Had learned
to make at: their meetings.
Each girl brought her own
dish and set them together'ior ,t
Third Meal in .buffet style.
Everyone enjoyed the meal
and could walk around the
table and choose what, they fan-
cied. All in all the meal turned
out successfully.
After the meal some of_ the
more talented members enter-
tained the ladies. Susan Feagan
did a Scotch Dance as did Lisa
Whitely. Mrs. Sherwood read a
poem as well.
The girls made plans for a
meeting to discuss their part- in
Achievement Day. They derided
to have a short meeting. next
Monday November 20.
Goderich doctor . many, many
years ago.
This house, which many now
recall as the Randall home, is
believed to be 125 tb• 130 years,
old. The Randalls, Elizabeth
. and Thomas, bought it from
John Hummell- in 1910. Mr.
llummell bought it in 1905 from
Isabel. Mitch -ell- who_ Wad.
acquired it from • a ,William
Mills- in 186g -
In about 1842 or '43 Mr.
-Mathew Black had, purchased
•?t► acres from the Canada Com-
pany and he then sold the east
five acres to William Mills.
There -are no indications when
the house was built, but it would
appear to be soon after. Mr.
Mills bought the property. -
Now the house - with the roots
of the ivy which covered the
house, tied up in plastic ..bags,
will be moved to a resting place
beside the Cayley Hill home on
North Wellington Street.
