The Juveniles edged DRIVICO and• Building • Centre - defeated Bayfield 6-1. Both games were played last Sunday: DRMCO and Bayfield both have two points but. DRMCO has played one less game. They are 1-1 while Bayfield is 1-2. Holmesville is 0-1 and Sifto Salt 0-2, At Clinton last Tuesday, • November 7, • DRMCO,scored three goals in the third period to blank Holmesville 4-0. Del Bedard opened the scoring at 5125 of the second from John Hodge. An unassisted effort by Ken Lee -at 1:14- of the- third he'third period made it 2-0 in favour of .DRMCO, Dave Graf scared DRMCO's third goal from Del Bedard and Ed Jones at 7:58. Jake Allin scored the final goal at 13:46 from Ken Lee. Our new room* is -decorated in shades of ' brown and orange. These colours are also found in, a new carpet added for.• n acoustical . purposes. There . are 'four soundproof practise rooms for individual or small group. practises and a large quantity of storage space for instruments, music folders and books along the walls. The room definitely adds to our band rehearsal and for some reason, whether it be of an emotional or acoustical factor, our music has improved!, Subscriptions for the 1972- 1973 G.D.C.I. Yearbooks will be sold this week. The book will cost $3.50. The Debating Club, known as the "Midwrestlers" of G.D.C.I., has been debating 'recently on controversial topics. The debates take .place after school and all the students are welcome to attend the debates. which prove to be exciting! "Windmill" will entertain at. a school dance this Friday evening in the auditorium of G.D.C.I. The Students' Council placed a wreath at the Cenotaph last Saturday. Although the number of Goderich citizens in atten- dance was an increase over at- tendance last year, there were still as few highschool students. In, Sunday's action, Bruce Bowmancored two ' goals to lead the Juveniles to :a 3-2 vic- tory over DRIVICO. Mark Fisher scored the other °Juvenile goal. Bob Paple opened the seining for DRMCO at 14;16 -of the first period from John Hodge. -Bowman tied the game at 10:03 of the second 'from Paul Kelly and Brian Thompson. Paul Kelly and Al Sheleton set up Bowman's second goal at 14:34., Mark Fisher scored the winner for the Juveniles at 2:14 of the third unassisted. In an exhibition game played Sunday afternoon, Clinton Lions Midgets defeated the Goderich Kinsmen Midget's by the score of- 5-2. A total of 17 penalties were •called by the referees Russel Pruder and Ron McLeod. Twelve of these were in the third period.. Scoring for Goderich Kinsmen were Allan Worgan, unassisted as he got the first goal of the game and the other went to Rodger Legere in the final period. - Goderich Minor Hockey lost a few dollars on the gate Sunday afternoon as there was rio one collecting admission to the game. • This Saturday, November 18 will feature four games starting at 6:30 at the Goderich Memorial Arena. Sailors win third BY 'KEITH WILLIAMS The Goderich Intermediate C Sailors' won their third con- secutive exhibition game defeating the Seaforth Beavers 7-3 in Seaforth. . The teams traded goals in the - first period but Goderich out- scored Seaforth 4-1 iri the second and_12-0 in the third. Wayne Doak opened the scoring for Goderich at 15:34. but ,Bob Beuttenmiller tied the game at 16:42 from Terry Craig. Bill McLaughlin put Seaforth ahead at 1:36 of the second with an : assist going to Jack McIllwain. Goderich then cut loose for four straight goals and a 5-3 lead .after two periods. George Gould, Frank Hagon and Wayne Rau combined'for"',a good passing play around the Seaforth net :with Gould netting Goderich's second goal at 2:47. Wayne Rau scored Goderich's 'final .goal at 18:15 unassisted. - - Goderich took twelve minor penalties in the. game to Seaforth's eight. Rob Kellestin'e and Chuck Jewell ':split the goaltending again this game and were kept busier, than in the two games against Kincardine. This was also a faster game than the two pervious ones: The Goderich forward .continued their strong fore -checking and back checking game and kept Seaforth from getting organized. Goderich opens their *regular season this Friday evening at home against Port Elgin. Game time is 8:30 p.m. They travel to Port Elgin on Sunday for an af- ternoon encounter. Bell Canada to assist handicapped Bell •Canad intends to: eliminate regular° monthly charges for some•-speciekegxrip- ment by people with speech and hearing difficulties beginning .Jan. 1, 1974. The charges, which currently range from $.30. to $2.15 a month, apply to volume control sets used by the hard of hearing; the bone conductor receiver used 'when part of the normal hearing function has to be bypassed; and the transmitter amplifier used by people with speech problems. Under the proposal being made to the Canadian Tran- sport Commission, people using the equipment now would no longer have to pay the recurring monthly charge for it. New customers would pay the regular installation charge plus a one- time $5.00 charge to offset some of the initial costs involved in providing a special service.
