father, the bride wore a gown of
• delustered silk lagoda featuring
lace and ,seed pearls; on the
bodice, full, three -tiered •skirt,
with flowing train, Juliet sleeves,
and a matching head -piece with
a long veil 'trimmed , with
miniature daisies. She carried, a
• nosegay ' bouquet of pink
sweetheartroses and white
'miniature carnations and baby's
breath.
Maid of honor was Miss
Brenda Feagan, of London, and
bridesmaids were Miss , Laura Mero, of Kitchener, sister of the
bride, and Miss Mary Ann
Millar, of London. They were
gowned alike in - floral print
dresses with yellow ' daisies in
their hair. All carried bouquets
of yellow daisies.
Miss Dulcie Mero, sister of the
bride, was flower girl. She wore
a , pink floorlength dress with
white miniature carnations in
her . hair. Herbouquet was
• similar to the bride's.
Best man was Kelly Geary, of
Sarnia and usheringthe guests
to their places in the church

nephew of the groom, was

For the occasion the bride's
mother chose a full length red
multi -print dress which was
highlighted by a corsage of
white roses.
The mother of the- groom
chose a full-length, sleeveless
mauve and ' white ,dress which
N was complemented by a corsage
of yellow `noses.
For a wedding trip to
Manitoulin Island and through
Northern Ontario, the bride
changed to a lilac pant suit with
a matching smock top. She

The couple are residing at 414

A honeymoon to Cape Cod
followed the wedding of Nancy
Anne Bell of $acrrie and John
Kenneth McIver of Barrie.
The coyple exchanged vows
and rings ,before Rev. G.
Lockhart Royal Sept. 9 in Knox
PresbyteriChurch, Goderich.
The altar of the church was
decorated with. vases --:of bright
pink gladioli and, white mums
for the four o'clock ceremony.
• William Cameron, Goderich,
provided music for the wedding.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. ' Melvin •James
Bell, Goderich, and the
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Wallace McIver,
Sarnia. , •
Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride wore a floor-,
length gown of ivory peau de
soie featuring a scoop neckline,
semi -empire waistline and full
sleeves gathered at deep cuffs.
The gentle A-line fell into a
train at the back of the dress.
The neckline, waistline, cuffs
and hem of the dress were trim-
• med with cotton embroidered
lace.
Her lace Juliet cap, accented
by 'a satin bow and streamers,
held an elbow -length four -tier
veil of tulle illusion.
She carried a mixed bouquet
'of yellow roses, shasta daisies,
statice, baby's breath, pink, car-
nations, and lilies.
For something old and
something blue, the bride wore a
turquoise ring which 'had
belonged to her late maternal
grandmother.,
The bride was attended by
Mrs. Wayne (Anne) 1?eachey,
Goderich. She wore;' a floor -
length gown of cotton crepe in
shades of purple, pink, yellow,
orange, green and white. A deep
purple peau de soie sash and
bow accented the semi -empire.
waistline. The gown also
featured long sleeves gathered
at ruffled cuffs, a ruffled scoop
neckline, and an A-line skirt.
She wore a purple velvet bow
and streamers in her hair.
She carried a bouquet of
white shasta daisies.
The bridegroom was attended
by Robert Lucas, Guelph. Nor-
man Bell of Thunder Bay,
brother of the bride. and Robert
McIver of Sarnia, brother of the
bridegroom ushered guests/
For the rece}ltion at ` the
church 'hall, the bride's mother
' received wearing an afternoon
dress of floral nylon chiffon in
predominant shades of blue and
mauve, with, black accessories
and a white gardenia corsage.
The bridegroom's mother
assisted wearing a pale blue en-
semble, with navy accessories
and a corsage of pink
sweetheart roses.
For travelling, the bride
changed to a street -length dress
of polyester and arnel in shades
of • brown, white, green and
yellow with brown suede ac,
cessories and a white gardenia
corsage.
The newlyweds will reside in
Barrie.
Out-of-town guests included
friends and "relatives from St.
Lambert, P.Q., Thunder Bay,
Detroit, Wyandotte, Michigan;
Brampton, London, Burlington,
Sarnia', Guelph, Toronto,
Fergus, Barrie, Tobermory,
Owen Sound, Auburn, n
Blyth.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was honored at a
miscellaneous shower at the
home of Mrs. Wayne Peachev.
Mrs. Peachey and Mrs. C.A.
Hardy were hostesses.
The bride and bridegroom
were presented with a gift from
the staff of The Barrie
Examiner where the . bride is
education reporter.

attendance at Blyth Fall Fair
dipped slightly this year -

Blyth Agricultural Society --
blamed the drop on good
weather on the day of the fair
which kept farmers . at home to
catch up on work missed during
the long, rough -weather spell
earlier.
Activity began Tuesday night
wjth the Fun ' n' Fashions Show
sponsored by the Blyth Board of
Trade. The show featured
variety entertainnent with Rev.
-John Roberts Of Belgrave as'
master of ceremonies. Fashions
from the Needlecraft Shoppe
and Bainton Ltd. were also an
interesting part of the show for
the women. And for the men the
highlight of the night was the
choosing of the .Queen of the
Fair with. four beautiful girls
competing. Judy Kelland of
R.R.1, Londesboro was chosen

The third meeting of the fall
Holmesville 4-H club was held
in the home of Rose ,min ,on
September 30. '
Bonnie Westbrook, the vice-
president, opened the meeting

Achievement Day ''is to he on
.January 6 in. Clinton. The
discussion was )main dishes for
the third meal using meat, fish
and poultry.
The demonstration was baked
fish fillets; tossed salad and
ginger snaps. The next meeting
is to be at Lynne Hildebrand's
on October 14.

The parade on Wednesday
was plagued by a late start and
a gaping hole in the middle, but
was still, one improved addition
to the 'fair.
In the heavy hor a division
competition Wednesday after-
noon Eugene McLeod of Kin-
cardine was' top winner in the
Clydesdale and four -horse hitch
classes.

Belgian division were Jim Ait-
cheson of Lucknow and Arnold
Young of Goderich. 'Williarti
Lupton..' of Embro and Percy
Mountjoy of Oshawa compiled
the most points in the Percheiron
division.
Other winners were Carman
Fullerton, Paisley in the wagon
horse division and Jim
McKague,. oil- Belmore in the
roadster classes.
In the Blyth feeder calf club
judging, Carol 'Anne Dale of
Clinton was named grand
champion showman, outpointing
runnerup Susan Tyndall also of
Clinton.
Overall ehampie n of the
livestock class was Earl Flynn
of Clintons .

Vincent of Belgrave who took
top honours in the steer com-
petition.

Trailblazers horse and pony
club trials, two Varna sisters,
Cathy and Wanda Malcolm
rode ' away • with..champion.
showmanship crowns. Cathy
won the horse class title and
Wanda, the pony:division.
