stepfather, Won. Swan, the bride -
looked lovely in a floor -length
gown of peau de sole with a lace
bodice and lilypoint sleeves. Her
long train . Was secured at the
waist with a .bow. She wore a
full-length veil of Viennese lace
and carried yellow and _,white
carnations. •
Maid of honor was her sister,

and carried a basket. of white
daisies.

two-piece white lace suit and the

Following the reception and
dance, the bride changed to a
white sleeveless dress and white
accessories. The couple left for a
honeymoon to Buffalo,
Thundergate and London,
The .newlyweds are residing in
Goderich.

Mr. Mayes, a »native of

of the University of Guelph

Food, Farm Credit Corporation
and the Agricultural Rehabili-
tation and Development .Ad-
ministration.

appointmept is part of the
continuing expansion of the
Agricultural Department of
the Commerce which now
includes specialists in Ontario,
Manitoba, Saskatchewan and

been received for this year's
parade, including eight frorn the
United States. -This is an _
increase of seven oyer, 1971•, and
a record for the event. The units
will include 18 bands, 22
marching units, 19 color parties
and 21 color guards..
The parade will assemble :at
the St: Mary's 'School grounds
at,King and Lyle Streets and at •
12.15. p.m.. will 'march east..can..
King through -the -fair grounds to
the grandstand where Gen.
Quinn will take the. salute. A
total of 18 trophies will be
awarded to the units judged best
in various categories.

Michael Maloney, 19, a
University of Western Ontario
stnclent from Bayfield who died
July 18, 1967 in' a vain attempt
to rescue a fellow worker frorn
drowning, , has been
',posthumously awarded the,
Medal of Bravery.
The award was one of 19
announced recently by
Government House. ° Eight on
the list are to receive the Star of
Courage and 11 others will be
awarded the'Medal of Bravery.
The decorations were recently
established under the Order of
Canada for recognition, of
heroism and courage . in both
military and civilian fields. '
Mr. Maloney was the son of
Mr. and Mrs. L,R. Maloney He
was drowned when he jumped
into the water in an attempt to
save the life of Vernon •Oesch,
with who•rn . he was working on
the east pier, of the government
dock at Bayfield.
In trying to clear a snagged
line attached to a crane bucket
Mr. Oesch was thrown frorn the
dock into Lake Huron. Mr.
Maloney, knowing that Oesch
could not swim, immediately
jumped into ' the water in an
attempt. to • rescue hirn. The
crane operator ran to get 'aid,
but when he returned both rnen
had disappeared beneath the
surface.
It was the second posthurnous
award for the young man's
sacrifice. In 1968 his parents
received a bronze rnedal and
$750 frorn the Carnegie. Hero
Fund Commission.

Song".
The bride, given i;n marriage
by her father, wore a floor -
length gown of silk organza with
Swiss lace at the bodice and
adorning the flounced hernline.
A Juliet cap field her lace -
trimmed. finger tip veil. Slee
carried a cascade bouquet of
pink and white sweetheart roses.
Audrey Marriott was .maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were
Brenda Ellscott and Marsha
Murawsky of Kitchener and Lyn
Caskenette of Preston.
They were sirnilarly dressed
in floor -length, flounced.
hemline dresses of figure'
georgette in turquoise and
mauve tones. They wore elegant
picture -style spun mohair hats,
tiered with a trio of rnauve veils.
They all carried parasols filled
with flo•"tvers.
Junior bridesmaids were
Amanda and Stephanie
Marriott, sisters of the, bride.
They both wore a junior edition
of the other bridesmaids'
dresses.
The best rnan was Harry
Kurnpf Jr. and the ushers were
John Wolcott, Joseph Mausser
and Andrew Piotrowski all of
Kitchener'.
The wedding reception was
held at the Inn' of the Black
Walnut, Kitchener. .
Following the reception, the
couple. left for a wedding trip to'
Lake Placid, New York. On
their return .they will reside in
Kitchener.'

indsor, Detroit, Santa
Barbara, California, Orcutt,
California, Montreal, ` St.
