An interesting meeting of the
Ahrneek Chapter, 1,CI.D , was
held at the horne of Mrs,' J.C.
Cutt, Pari_, Street, on Tuesday,
September. 5.
The meeting opened' with the
regent, °Mrs. rt,. Neville.

Mrs. C. Ruffen.
The roll call led by the
,secretary, Mrs. G.F. . Mills
., showed a" fair attendance. One
visitor was present.
The minutes were read by the
secretary and approved. One
new Member was unable to be
present.
Mrs. Neville reported that the
table at Att Mart was very
successful financially. The draw

Mrs: Neville announced the
Area Conference at St. Thomas,
Thursday, Oct: 1,9th. She gave
an outline of the course.
The treasurer's report was
given 'by Mrs. G. Donnelly and
received. '
Mrs. O'. Straughan, card
convener,, gave her report. A
card had been received from
Mrs. F. Walkorn 'thanking .the
.chapter and the rnernbers for
'cards received while she was ill
in hospital. Mrs. Straughan
asked rnernbers to report names
of those who are ill.
Mrs. C. Clairrnont who
usually gives an interesting talk
on "World Affairs" was unable
• to be present.
Mrs: G. Dustow expressed
thanks to the hostess, Mrs. Cutt
and the helpers, Mrs. Neville
and Mrs. ' Mills for hospitality.
The October meeting will be
held the first Monday in

that committee points out three
sections of the NDP constitution
. that apply to the nomination
meeting. The constitution states
that ' "Applicants for,
membership who apply within
14 days preceding' any such
• convention shall not be eligible
to vote at such conventions." It
also stipulates that, "Only
persons entitled to vote' at a
nominating convention shall
h,ve the right to propose a
person for nomination." Persons
offering themselves for
nomination roust also be
individual rnernbers of the party
as defined elsewhere in that
constitution.
• This means those wishing to
vote at the nomination' meeting
or to nominate a candidate roust
have their membership renewed
for 'the ' current year prior to
September 12: Anyone with 'a
1972 ` rnerrrbership card is
eligible to vote or nominate.

Ashfield, Four games had to be.
played in this series second
garne 12 to 11. The third game
was protested by North Ashfield
so was played at neutral
grounds (Port Albert). This
garne Was , a real thriller with
Kingsbridge only winning by 1
run, the score being Kingsbridge
7, North Ashfield 6.
Kingsbridge,, Benrniller and
Dungannon tossed to see who
would play in the next series.
Kinsbridge won the' bye. The
first garne of the Benrniller -
Dungannon series resulted in. a
win of Benrniller 11 -
Dungannon F.
Kingsbridge will meet the
winner in the Benrniller,
Dungannon series for trophy.
Intermediates, (boys 12 to 16
years), Brookside and North
Ashfield tied in regular games
so a sudden death gave
Brookside team the right to

Consumer Studies Serninar,
which ,outlined curriculum
guifletines- prepared by the
Ministry for Intermediate apd
Senior Divisions.

Weils, Harold Buchwald,
Chairman, Canadian Consumer
Council,' Dr. Jacob Ziegel,
Osgoode Hall Law School, York
University and other educators,

Officials addressed the,delegates.
The teachers also took part in
, several - panel discussions
covering all aspects of consumer
studies. •
Students will. be examining'
such topics as credit buying,
spending patterns, tiuth in
advertising and wise budgeting
through actual and simulated
consurner-seller situations, case
studies and- other methods
aimed at preparing them to
make informed, decisions in
