held their annual meeting on
August 21, 1972 in the

operation. During . these ten
years the school has grown from
two rooms to six rooms, from an
enrolment. of 40 pupils to an
enrolment of pearly 200, 'from
,a staff of two teachers -to, a
staff of six teachers with one
part time teacher.
One of the highlites this year
was the school's participation
in the Fine Arts Festival held in
London with six other Christian
schools. Such a festival really
,brings out the skills and talents
each individual possesses.
Efforts will be made to make
this an annual event.

have certain pupils picked up by
their buses without additional

board has hoped . to receive
permission to use empty bus
seats where available on

are expected and then there still

year's operations.
Elections for new board
members took place. Elected for
a two year term are: 'Mr.. M.
Dykstra (re-elected); Mr.. F.
Datema (re-elected); Mr. J.
•Kassies; Mr. M. Klasinga, and
Mr. K. Vanden Heuvel.
Board members with one year
remaining are: Mr.. C.
Bruinsma; Mr. M. Sierts"ema;
Mr. A. Valkenburg, and Mr. S.
van Wyk.

Miss,- Robinson said the
Liberal party has been very
conscious of getting young
people involved in the campaign
at. the constituency level. She
said new voters ate .the 2.8
million people in Canada
between 18 and 24 years of age.
They are 22 per cent of the total
Canadian vote.
Mr. Keil reported in Huron
there will be 7,000 voting for the
first time: This means one vote
in five in Huron is goin►,,: to be
cast in this election by a first
- time voter, he said.

In the last week or so, how many times
have yQu picked up a magazine and had
to thumb through to, page ninety-eight or
so to get to the first article? It seems as if
'I've had• to do it quite frequently. I've
been bombardOd with promises of
underwear support, new cars, personal
feminine needs and soft, smooth liqueurs.
Even the comic books are,saturated with
ads nowadays. The youthful (or
advanced) reader has n'urnerous
opportunities to obtain such treasured
prizes as soft rubber, hockey, pucks,
trained jumping frogs or personally
autographed Zambizi boorherangp.
I had to chuckle to

items in the back of one of those gossipy
magazines. In particular, the ad that
states "Blow yourself up!" (meaning of
course to,have a picture enlarged and not
the literal interpretation) got some
sarcastic comment from me for •its
trouble.

before and after pictures are too good to
be true. Then there's the bully who kicks

Municipal Telephone System

of Alma Street in Inverhuron: '

poles were cut with a handsaw. ,
He added that several telephone
lines had also beep cut shutting

The downed poles were first
noticed at 1:30 a.m. on Friday
