a ,studio at Rexdale now.
Just two of the Neubacher trio
of artists Were -at Summerfest
last week exhibiting the faniily's
paintings and sketches. Gerda
and son Roman left Fred in
Toronto babysitting the
youngest Neubacher.
Fred Neubacher's' paintings
are Mainly acrylic and water
color. Gerda usually keeps with
'charcoals but has worked vitith
,oils. She prefers sketching
because, she says, it is light kid
romantic and roorge satiSfying.
Sometime in the future, Mrs.
Neubacher would like to work
with claY but,,the busy housewife
and 'Mother just doesn't have
the time at ,this point in her life.
And RomanrWhat type of
art does he prefer'? Well, maybe
,he'll'know better when 'he grows
up and takes'. his career more
seriously.. After all, how much
really know what he wants to do
— 'aside from • munching
chocolate and having fun.

mandatory that everyone obtainoa

controlling.the size and location
of buildings in the township.

SELECT COMMITTEE ON •LAND DRAINAGE
By.resolution of the Legislature of Ontario a select cornmittee
was'appointeci on June 30, 1972 to examine, study and inquire into
the following matters regarding land drainage in Ontario:
(1) The objectives of land drainage as an‘agricultural practice
andthe benefits to be derived from such practice. ' ,
(2) The assOciated problerns, of coMpeting land use. in the
urban. kinge and in wetlands, as influenced by land drainage
.,(3) The problem of public inter* in land u -se Over tho
drainage of private lands by individuals.
(4) The prior'eValuation Orthe benefits and costs of a drainage
-(5) An evaluation of the petition procedure for initiating a, -
(6) A review of the construction imOrovement and
maintenance procedures under "The .Drainage Act" in
achieving the objectives.. ' •
(7)- rview of the appeal procedures under "The 1:441 -nage
(8) A review of the -financial procedures and assistance under
"The Drainage Acr, and Other, drainage programs.
(9) A stOdy of the. costs of. land drainage and what influences
such costs and howthey. may be reduced, i.e. engineering costs,
(10) An evaluation of construction practices in general and -
erosion and weed control of drainage ditches in detail.
(11) A revie-w of the administrative practices and methods in
carrying out respi3nsibility under "The Drainage Act".
-After due itUdy and consideration to recommend such changes
in the laws, procedures and processes as in the opinion of the
' Committee, may be necessary and desirable.
The Conlinittee has the intention of visiting all areas in the
PrOviiite and to hold •public hearings on the ,questions associated
with the above terms of reference.

their intention to submit written briefs or their.desire to. Attend the
