the Goderich 'Planning' Board.

The Refflinghaus plans calls

Public 'Works for Canada was
presented in town 'council last
Thursday evening.. The letter;
signed by J.J.„Maingot, depart-
mental assistant, stated' that 'a
two-phase program will begin as''
soon.as possihte' to determine

"As. you are 'aware, there is a
surge or wave . problem ' in
Goderich Harbor.'' Mr. Maingot
wrote, "which officials of the
Department feel should be
resolved before consideration
can be given to the repair or
reconstruction of the retaining
walls.'' .
"In this connection, 'the
Department plans to carry out a •
two-phase study of the surge
problem,” the., letter continued.
"The first phase concerns the in-
stallation of 'two wave gauging
stations which will be in.
operation for a full season. It is
planned to install;tl.1treordc:[s.. •
as soon as possible and in all
likelihood they should be in
'operation before the end of this
month."
"The second phase would be a
model ,study using the . wave

Councillor Stan Profit went
on record at last'week's regular
Town Council meeting as being
"violently 'opposed" to closing
off the entire Square in the

late afternoon.

"It should never happen again."

on Saturday at 12:10 a.m.
