Cassano opened the meeting with
the League prayer and Mrs. Joe
Courtney; presided. ' a .
' Church Lif Convener, Mrs.
Frank Rieglirg gave a spiritual
reading and a thought for the day
followed by ' her monthly :and
. annual report.
Correspondence was read.
Diocescan League Day on Sunday,
V' April 23 will be observed at the
10:30 a.rn, Mass .,with the
-installationoof officers, for 1972`"
1973. Members will do the
readings and take up the offering.

treasurer • read their~ -annual

the presi.dent.and all the
conveners.
Father Cassano spoke a few
words in which he reminded
everyone they were created to
God's image. and destined for
heaven.
The meeting was adjourned and •
closed with prayer.
Father H. Cassano, Mrs. Stan

election.

Everyone enjoyed a hot dinner,
smorgasbord style.
Born on Easter Sunday, April
• 17, 1892 'in• Ashfield Township.
Frank is the son of the late Peter
Austin and Annie McCann. The
Austin homeplace., occupied by
• his brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Cyril Austin . is .on
Highway 2'1, just north of St.
.Joseph's Church, Kingsbridge.

Margaret McNamara and Frank
in marriage on June 14, 1922.
They lived together on their farm •
• on the 10th concession of Ashfield
where they received five children
who were, present° with their
families at the Sunday gathering. •
They are Teresa' (Mrs. Joseph
'Courtney) and four sons John,.
Vincent and Wilfred of Ashfield
•
and Eldon of Dungannon. His wife •
Margaret died Oct. 6, 1948.
Mr. Austin has 25
grandchildren• and three, great-
grandchildren. Only, one •
grandchild, Mrs. Ronald (Audrey)
Durnin of Guelph was unable to
attend..;
Those present during the day
from.Goderich were Frank's two
sisters, Mrs: Leo (Mary)
Corriveau and Mrs, Pat (Irene)
Murphy and first cousin' Miss.
Carrie O'Neil. Another sister,
Mrs. Albert (Violet) Sutter and
• brother Lawrence, both of
Detroit; did not attend Brother -
Cyril Austin of Ashfield brother-
in-law Frank Moran of Lucknaw....,
also enjoyed in in the. celebration.
On Monday, April 17, the
family, and members of the local
Catholic Women's League
attended Mass with Father
Cassano at Frank's present homs
in the village of Dungannon where
he has been living since last
October. . '
Frank Austin has i5een . a lifew
long member of St. Joseph's
church Kingsbridge, •starting out
as an altar boy and then singing in
the choir for many years. 4
