Elizabeth Collin's of Auburn.
T•he groom•is the son of Mr: and'
Mrs. Louis Stadelmann, R.R.2,
Blyth and the bride is the daughter
9f Mrs. Eleanor Bradnock of
Auburn. Wedding music was
played by the church organist,
Mr. William Cameron, who also
accompanied the soloist, Miss
Ni3.ncv Anderson of Auburn when
. -she sang "The Wedding Prayer';
and "I'll `walk beside you " -while
the register was being signed.
Given in marriage by her
brother, George° Eollns; the -
bride wore a white floor -length'
gown' of .polyester crepe and
,french lace. bodice and long
sleeves. The skirt featured a
a matcfiirtg°lace•
small train. and
hood 5 -powered ; her ° •head. She
carried a bouquetof red roses and
white' carnations. Her maid of
honour-was.Miss Brenda Ball of
R.R.1; Au ui dressedrina floor -
length gown of pare blue polyester.
crepe with bows and streamers of
deep blue .'`:velvet ribbon .• and
matching bows in hair.
She carried a colonial bouquet
• of white shasta mums with multi-
coloured ribbon streamers. The'
bridesmaid. Miss Jackie
Collinson of .Kintail was dressed -
in a floor -length gown, of lilac
polyester ,crepe witpurple
velvet ribbon bow and streamers
and matching ribbon,bow in hair.
The Junior bridesmaid, Miss
°' `Jayne • Arthur of Auburn was
dressed in a floor -length gown ,of
sugar pink polyester crepe with a
deeper. pink. velvet ,ribbon
streamers.. Bothe bridesmaid
carried colonial bouquets of white
shasta mums similar to the maid
of honour.

Miss Susan Stadelmann• of
R.R.2, Blyth, sister of the groom,
was the flower girl in a floor -
length dress of bright yellow
polyester crepe with deep yellow
velvet bow and streamers and she
carried. a miniature colonial' ,
bouquet of shasta--4-mums. All
dresses were styled similar to
that of the bride.

The groomsman was Louis
Stadelmann, of Kitchener,
brother or the groom and the
ushers were John Henry, R.R.1,
Auburn and Keith Richmond of
London.
Following the ceremony. ,a
reception was heldatthe Auburn
'Community Memorial hall which •
was decorated attractively in
streamers and wedding bells: The
guest register was in the charge
of Miss Laura • Phillips. The

guests were weTcomeq :the •
bride's mother wearing, 'a tforS;
length 'gown of pink flowered
crepe de sheen and a corsage of
white baby mums. She was
assisted by the groom's 'mother
wearing a floor -length gown of
green crimpolene with gold -trim
and a corsage of, White baby
mums. The • head table was '
centred with a three -tiered
wedding- cake and the
smorgasbord dinner was served
by the Auburn Women's Institute.
Music for dancing was'supplied by
Carruther's'Orchestra of Ripley.
For a wedding.trip to Niagara
Falls, the bride donned 'a• .gold,
..two. -piece suit- with . brown silk"
blouse. brown accessories and a
gold -baby mum corsage. On their
returr , they took up.residence at
the n.w home on R.R.2, Blyth.
C.G.I.T. hold
final meeting.

'The final C.G.I.T. meeting was
held recently at the ' home ' of
Barbara Empey: Sherry Plaetzer
led an interesting discussion on
characters in the Bible. The bake
sale which had been held proved
very successful as told by the
treasurer. The girls expressed
their appreciation to all those who
helped inthis project. Part of tfte
proceeds will be used, for
membership fees and the other a
new project of setting up a
nursery for infants of the church
.to allow their parents to attend
church services. The girls
eirpressed their thanks to Mrs.
Maurice Bean, leader and Miss
Heather Elliott for assisting:

Village tragedy
recalled at
Sunday service
Sixty-nine years ago, Sunday
March 12th was recalled 'by the
older citizens of this village of the
tragedy of the drowning of Dr.
. Frank- Turnbull then a young
Auburn physician.
He had made plans to go to
Goderich by canoe at the time of
the 'spring ,flood. The i&? had
broke up, and had gone down the
river and the Maitland was higher
than it had been for many years;
Dr. Turnbull left Auburn about 11'
a.m. by canoe and all went well,
until _he.:.reached the C.M.R.

He lost control of the canoe 'and
it upset throwing him into the icy
water. He clung to it but passed
away shortly after being rescued.

Mr. and Mrs.. Leonard
Archambault attended the
graduation ceremony at`'
Fanshawe College on Friday,
February 25 for their son,
Douglas when he received his
diploma in construction ' .and
maintenance electricity. He is
employed with °Perth Electric at
St. Marys.
Mrs. Elmer Trommer visited
over the week -end with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Odbert of
Stratford.
Friends in the Auburn district
are pleased to learn that Mr. and
• Mrs, Ed Davies are -improved in
health in their winter .home at
Kissimmee, Florida after their
surer• a bout, with the flu bug. Mr.
Davies is again enjoying
shuffleboard tournaments.

Mrs. Gordon Chamney, "My

Mr. William Seers returned
home last Wednesday after having
surgery on his hand. We wish him
a speedy recovery.
Mr. Randy Millian of Colorado
University, grandson of the late
Rev. J.C. Millian of Washington,
D.C., brother of the late George
Millian attended the funeral last
week and visited Mrs. George
Millian and ,other riatives.
Randy is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Mfllian of Buenos Aires,
Argentina. ,
-Mr. and Mrs. Luther Morley of
Ailsa Craig visited with Mrs.
Gordon Taylor over the week -end.
'Mrs. Beth Lansing is a patient
in Victoria hospital, London, We

Mrs. Thomas Haggitt read the
mission theme whicheonststed of
three separate readings Setting .,
up, Special • Ministers, and
Missions to Seamen.
Mrs. Trommer read a -small
passage, "Prelude to Easter."
The minutes of the previous
meeting were approved as readby
the secretary, Mrs. John.Daer.
Mrs• Thomas Haggitt, the
treasurer, gave the financial
statement. A letter from Ireland
received by Mrs: Celia Taylor
from Mrs. 'Robert Meally was
read and was very interesting.
The. roll call; was naming .a
favorite Easter hymn. The
meeting was closed by the•hymn,
"Christ, the Lord is Risen
Today". An auction was held after
which a delightful tea was served
by Mrs.'Trommer.

Auburn 2, 4-H club met At the ,
'home of Mrs. Wm Clark with tjie.

The minutes were read by Gail
Seers. A demonstration was held
on making flat felled' and french
seams 'AAS disdussion'took place on
staystitching, gathering and
darts

Aubrirn 3, 4-H club held it's
third meeting at thehome of Mrs.
'John Hildebrand ..with the
president Barbara Chamney in
charge. The meeting was opened
with the pledge followed by the
minutes by Cathy M\Clinchey.
The girls decided on a design
for their books. A discussion took
place led by M4..-Erank Raithby
onstay-stitching, flat, felled, lap
and french seams and' samples
were made. The roll call was
answered by saying why I chose
my material. The meeting was
closed with the 'Crppd
The fourth meeting of Auburn 3
was held at the home of Mrs°. John'
Hildebrand with the president,
Barbazfa Chamney in charge.
Demonstrations were made by
Mrs, Frank Raithby of making
bias .binding and Corded piping.
The roll call was answered on
"How I plan to trim my sleep
wear" The meeting -which -was
opened with the pledge was closed
with the creed. '

Members of Alexandra Marine and. General Hospital'of
Goderich Corporation and other interested partio .are urged
to attend the annual meeting which will be held on
Monday,-' March 20, 1972, at 8:09 p.m. in the Ladies'
Auxiliary .Room of the hospital, at which time we will
receive the financial statement, the auditors' report, the
report of the board and elect members to the Board of
Governors and conduct other business. " •
MEMBERS OF THE CORPORATION

The following persons shall be members uponresolution
of the Board: •
(a) a person who has donated orwho donates $100 in
any one year to the Corporation shall be a life
member;
(b) the president or chief officer of a corporation or
organization which pays the Corporation $25 in any
year shall -be ex officio a member of the Corporation
for that year;
(c) a person who pays the annual membership fee of
$1.00 to the Corporation in any year shall be a.
member of the Corporation for that year;
(d) a member .who pays his fees annually' shall not be
entitled to vote at any meeting of the Corporation
unless his membership fee was paid in full at least
thirty days prior to the date of the meeting.
