We were proud to present a
cw, immer badge to Leslie MacEa'.•
last Friday and 0 -since this isn't
exactly the swimnIing season,
perhaps we should explain that.
Leslie - brought her 'Red Cross
certificate and crest to show us
that she'd been successfully
.tested on all the required
swimming skiljs.
Linda Best received her Cook
badge also and in Pew Wow, she
had some very interesting things
'to tell us about her adventures as
a •cook.
:With Thinking Day, the
birthday of both Lord and Lad
. Baden-Powell, . corning up we
began talking about learning a
little bit about other countries.
To start .with each girl is going to
try to ' bring something from
home that came t'rom a different
land. We're also very interested
in clothes; customs, food, games,
songs -and dances - any'thirig at
all!
• . The game everyone,, enjoyed
oso much came .from South
Africa and items called' "mice and,
mealies.'-'. The Brownies are the
mice, the rpealies are dried corn
kernels, and the aim ,of the garde
is to be' the mouse with the
most,
Pow Wow showed us that
there are some badges in the
near future because quite a fete
Brownies displayed their
excellent handiwork.
