Christmas_ means getting, the
Ghristmas tree ,up and going out
to other towns or cities to go
shopping for Christmas gifts and
being ib a_ crowd in a store.
Christmas means going around
'town 'and seeing all the
Christmas decorations On houses
and on trees and seeing the snow
on the ground. It means seeing
the Christmas tree lit up and
seeing the presents underneath it
and decorations all around the
house. Christmas is hearing
Christmas music and getting gifts
for everyone and wrapping gifts.
Christmas is all these things.

Christmas means a
tremendous amount of. love
because you can give presents to
people . and when they give
things to you, you know they
care. -
Christmas night you probably
dream about pleasant,things.
I think I'm different, I dreaTii
about soldiers who, are fighting
in Viet Nam so we can be free
and rest in peace. I wonder how
it would be, crawling through
the battle field when the enemy
line is near, knowing you're
going to die. You ,would
probably think of your family
sitting around the firplace
watching the Christmas tree with
all those beautiful lights, wishing
,you were, there. You remember
that little_ picture on the door
you saw with Christ in a manger,
just as you were leaving.
' All the thoughts you had
were at home and once more
you wished you were free,
nothing surrounding you but
hope, peace and love; you
wished on the 'star before you
went to sleep.

joy, a joy so great, it's
impossible , to deSeribe.And
there isn't really any reason for
it, just that it's Christinag.
Everywhere you look, you
practically see this joy; it's in the
tangleo'of ribbons and wrapping
paper lying around; it's in the
odour of Christmas Waves and
fruit cakes; and 'it's in -the
Christtuas.story being read from
the Rible,..the moment, when you.
really stop and think and
remember about Jesus.
°Next morning, you are
awakened by a rough shaking
and an excited vice whispering,
``Wake up, sleepy -head, it's
Christmas morning!" In a few
Moments, the whole house is
awake and alive with shbuts of
"Oh, this is just- what I wanted!"
or "Isn't this gorgeous!" A
"wrapping -paper -and -
ribbon -strewn" living -room is
finally -abandoned to have
"brunch."
Relatives arrive and you run
' around excitedly showing off
your new things. There is not an
inch of space left in the kitchen,
what- with mothers and aunts
and grandmothers •all. bustling
around getting the dinner ready.
And •is it good! Turkey and
cranberries, carrots, peas, and
potatoes, salads, rolls, pies, ,afid
nearly every kind of good food
imaginable.
But Christmas Day must
come to an end sometime, and it
does, too soon! In bed, you
think and'dream of the day vine

in your heart, - the joy that is
really ----what Christmas •is all
about.
