Goderich Kinsmen Midgets lost a

Duncan each got a goal for
Goderich.' Larry Kale was the big
gun for Seaforth getting two
goals.
Sunday in Goderich, the
Kinsman Midget All Stars
defeated Zurich by a score of
6.2.' Six different -players figured
in the scoring as Tony Maillet,
•Paul Kelly, Jim, Schram Dan
Duncan, Tim McAstocker and
Jim Denomy each scored 'a gbal.
John Momersteeg got both goals
for Zurich.
Travelling to Mitchell
Monday evening Goderich won
3-1 as Keith Williams was in the
nets for Goderich and has come

Kentucky Fried .Chicken won
two games on the weekend to

shutout Legion 4=0. Goalgetters

Wilkin.
- Saturday, the :Colonel's crew

days, blanking Glen -mark Homes
5-0. The goals, were scored by
Billy Peters, Jim Wilkin, Paul
, Yeoman, Mike Hodges, and Jim
Burbine. Rick Carman who Was
in goalvfor K.F.C. in both games, •
has four shutouts so far.

share' of first, place by shutting
out Glenrnark Homes 2-0,
Friday. Danny Maillet and Don
Coughlan, assisted by Bruce

win over Goderich Elevator in a
rough game, where the referees

Opening the, scoring with
three quick goals` were McGee,s
as Russi3erry, Dennis Reid and
Roger Legere got' goals and
assists were, by Carl LeBlanc,
Kevin Such and Bob Overholt.
Goderich Elevators goals were all
scored unassisted by Jim Watt,
Scott Kennedy, and Doug
Culbert, The winning goal 'for
McGee's was scored by Rodger
Legere as he scored two goals in
the game. - .
Second game • was- very
exciting and° -well •, played as
Denomme ,Flowers nearly blew
the game in the last minute of
play as Don Hoist Real' Estate
,tied the score 3-3, but with only
a few seconds remaining in the
game, Terry Crawford scored his
second goal of the night to give
Denomme Flowers a 4-3 win.
Other goal scorers for
Denomme Flowers were Wayne
Jones and John Warr with Paul
Parsons, Dale Baechler and Mike
Donnelly picking up assists for
the winners. Kevin Meriam got
three points for Don Hoist Real
Estate as he picked up a goal and
two assists. Phil Evans and
Bunny Kennedy got the other
goals.

Holmesville was matched goal
for goal in the second frame. At
4:17. Harvey Carter scored from

and Jim Farrish added another
for the underdogs at 12:48 with
assists going to Rick Fremlin and

more goals. Jim Hayter sunk -one

widened their first place lead

During the first two periods
Sifto Salt took an impressive"
lead in play, scoring twice in
each frame. In the first Derwin
Carter scored from Ken Daer al,
11:39 and Wayne Draper scored

Rotary Bantam' All -Stars ,
went on a scoring spree against
Seaforth last Wednesday night in
Seaforthy as ' they scored six
unanswered goals -in the 3rd

duties for Utile night as the

ran into a tough opponent in
their first meet of the season
here last_." Thursday. The local
rnatmen• were 'defeated 58-10 by
an excellent Exeter South -Huron
squad. Three .G.D.C.I. wrestler
won their matches.
Jim Reaburn of Goderich
decisioned Lief Madsen, 15-4 in
the 167 pound class. In the 177
pound class, Tony McQuail
decisioned Exeter's Don
Truemner, 8-4. G.D,•C.I.'s Al
Drennan won the 193 pound
class, with a 6-0 decision over
pave Cyr.

paid tribute' to the 'work 'of Dr.
Barry Deathe with the athletic
program in the school, and. to
Richard Madge for his work oft
publicity.
The guest speaker was Dave
T u f fy" Knight, athletic
director at Waterloo Lutheran
University.
In his remarks, " Knight
compared athletics to preparing
for life, with its competition". He
said that athletics is a way to•
gain recognition, and that
athletes should do their best to
excel.

'The G.D.C.I. boys' basketball
teams, started 'the Huron -Perth
schedule with victorie' over
Exeter. South -Huron outhuron ingames
played here last Thursday.
The , Senio .Vikings won
74-42, while the Juniors were
victorious by a 50-10 score.
In the senior game, Brock
Stimson led all scorers with 18
points. Gary Lounsbury added
16 points for the Vikings, while
Dave. Carruthers. hooped 15 and
Mike Tafeit 14 points. Brian
MacKenzie and Steve Stringer
'each® had four points for the
winners, with Pete.. Teichert
adding two points for the
winners. -.. .
Exeter scorem were led by D.
Smith and J. Darling with 16
and 15 points respectively.
Roger Legere was high man
for coach Frank MacDonald's
jtunlor V-rkings with 11 -points.
Casey Wildgen and Dave
Patterson were right behind with
10 points each. Pat Conlon
added seven, Alan Bogie five,
Ron Willis four, and Jim Watt
three points.
