Just a while back a half mile
out of Obidos we ran into some
rapids. 'Though the paddlers
tried hard to steer in and out
among the rocks, we soon hit a
jutting On# which stabbed a hole
in our boat. With me and Kate
bailing and the -natives paddling
we soon, reached dry land. There
the natives patched up the hole•
while. my ,wifeand I- looked -
around. Soon we put our boat
`back `into - the water and went
upon our journey ;again. Finally
here we are. '
Now we are going into' the
city, where we will get our
supplies and descend upon our
way back t Obidos.
