Clinton's • 'Christian_ Reformed Church was lit with
candlelight from orange candles in black wrought iron
• candelabra and-yfall florvers'-ror tliewrecerit wedding of Matlli.ea
Wynarda Oskam and John L. J. Hoogenboom, Niagara Halls,
1, Rev. A. Beulsema, Clinton, officiated at the double -ring
ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Oskam,
Goaderieh, and the sun of Mr. and Mrs. L. Hoogenboom,
London,
Wedding ' music was supplied by -Miss Joanne Quartel,
London, with her trumpet accohipanied by C. Guetteron at
the organ.
Gjven in marriage by. her father, the bride wore a
floor -length white gown of polyester georgette over white satin
with ' r 'iratSsari e 'Sleeves; gathered'' empire waist and Collar
accented ' with dainty white lace. Hier long veil of matching
material was accented with lace and was attached to a Juliette
cap. Stye carried a •bouq,uet of white ,roses spotted with a.few
dried flowers and greens. -
Maid of .honor was Miss Ena ()skarn, sister of :the bride,
ow:nsview• She wore a Moor -length gown uf,polyester crepe
"in. floral design of .orange, pink and ' Glow which featured a
- gathered empire waist and collar with long cuffed sleeves. She
carried a nosegay of autumn flowers.
'Dressed' identically to the maid of honor ...were the two
bridesmaids, both sisters of the bride, Miss Marvjane ()skarn,
Goderich,'and Mrs. Rita Verburg, Auburn. • . '
T°wU' nieces of the I bride, Yolanda . and Marrietta ()skarn,
• were the tlowergirls 'and wore' identical orange floor -length
gowns accented with white lace ,on � the bodices and, carrying
tiny' baskets of dried autumn flowers.
Groomsman was Leo Hoogeriboom.Jr, of London, brother
of the groom.. fishers were Ben Hoogenboom, Exeter and Fred

wedding reception at the Salford Valley HaII saw -the -`
bride's mother-' in a floor -length' mauve crimplene gown with
black accessories. and a corsage of white roses and the' groom's
.Imother .in a floor -length purple „c'rimplene. gown with beige
accessories•and a corsage of white roses.
For travelling to -Quebec City, Quebec, 'the bride donned a
two-piece brown and beige fitted suit with brown accessories
and,a corsage of orange roses,
The newly we cis are residing in Niagara Falls.
Prior to her marriage, the bride; was !feted at showers given
by members of the groom's family in London; a shower hosted
by ° Mrs• H. Lansick, Goderich;' and a shower with'Staff
members of the Canadian .Red Cross in London as guests.

Hindmarsh's Log .(,abin,R. R. 2, Goderich, was the scene
October 23 for the wedding at which Susan E. ,Hindmarsh and
Dr. Charlton Chan exchanged vows and rings.
' The service was held in front of the cabin on the bank
overlooking Lake Huron and, against a background of autumn
foliage. Rev. Russell Turner, uncle of the bride, Uniontown,
,Pa.; performed the marriage for the daughter of Mr. and• Mrs.
John C. ,Hindmarsh and the son of Mr. and Mrs..C. N. Chan,
Hong Kong.
Wedding music was supplied by Kathy and Joseph I3)Ilillips,
sister and• brother-in-law of the bride. Kathy sang several
selections accompanled'by her husband on his guitar.
' The bride, given in marriage by her father,' wore a
floor length off:white wool crepe dress on simple empire lines
with delicate gold banding. Her headpiece was a matching bow
with attached veiling. She carried a nosegay .of orange roses..
and chrysanthemums and white daisies and baby's breath.
Maid of honor was Joan Hindmarsh, Toronto, who chose a
floor -length wool crepe, stylized print in oranges, browns and
purple. She carried a nosegay of daisies and baby's breath with
purple flowers and rtibbons.
The flowergirls were Michelle 'and Wendy Cheung and Faye
and Karen Chang, nieces of the groom, all of Toronto. They
wore floor -length • orange wool jerseydresses and carried
wicker baskets of orange and yellow daisies and white baby's
breath:
Dr. Jackson Matthieu, Ottawa, was the groomsman, Usher's
were John A. Hindmarsh, Goderich, and Eric, Turner
Uniontown, Pa.

Fall leaves and flowers, gourds and Indian corn decorated
the cabin for the weddingJeerption. The bride's mother wore
a beige silk blouse and a filength brown velvet skirt with a
corsage. of orange roses and chrysanthemums. The groom's
-'mother wore "a" -beige print brocade 'dies With' an " di -chid
corsage.
For a honeymoon spent in Mainz and New Hampshire; the
bride wore a deep purple knit ensemble, black wet -look boots
and shoulder bag.
Dr. and Mrs. Chan are residing in-To•ronto.
Showers were •given for the bride by Donna Harris and R.
Beattie; Mrs. George Parsons; the bride's grandmother, Mrs. U.
C. Hindmarsh of Oakville; and Joan Hindmarsh and Arleen
Arnold of Toronto.

A double -ring ceremony amid" various shades of pink,
gladioli was the setting October 49 'for the double -ring
ceremony at which Mr. and Mrs. John Morton Lodge were
wed. �- -__
The bride, the former Sharon Faye Spivak is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. John Spivak, Dungannon, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs.'El d Lodge, Goderich.
The wedding •took pl.acq..at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's
\\ itnesses, Uoderich; with Mr• D, '. Williams; London-,.
officiating. -
Pianist for the ceremony was ,Eva Barney, Clinton, and the
soloist was Helene Lewis; Dungannon.
Given in marriage • by 'her father, the bride wore an
empire -waisted ,polyester crepe d*,ss.-with a stand-up collar and
long, full sleeves with deep cuffs featuring guipure lace trim.
She wore 'a ''Jliet pearled .cap which held a floor -length veil
and carried a` --large white orchid with a purple , centre,
stephanotis and purple'baby's breath.

London, who • " chose a -Purple; . velvet, floor -length
empire-vaisted dress with a V-neck, and buttoned in a ,.
double-breasted effect. She had white accessories and carried a
nosegay ,of purple orchids.and white baby's breath. '•
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Wayne Marshall, Strathroy, in a
purple velvet dress with a high necne, slashed and buttoned,.
and Mis's Dale, Given, Lohdon,,in a purple velvet dress with
V-neck and buttoned front;,They both carried purple orchids
and white baby's breath.
Groomsman was Leslie Babinsky, London. Ushers, -,were
James Lodge, London;"and' Laird Spivak; Collingwood.
The wedding reception was at .the Harbourlite Inn where
the tables were decorated --with 'candelabra and snifters filled

chapter attended the., 50th
anniversary celebrations of the
Mitchell Chapter.

club members
An October 26 Get
Acquainted Party was held at
the home of Dorothy Feagan for
the eleven prospective pledges of
Beta Sigma Phi.
" '`I'tie 'p'arty took the theme
a '',"hard times" night with a
lunch ,of baked , beans, apple
eider and pumpkin tarts being
served.
Games were played and an,
outline of the sorority in general
presented, with the latter part of
the. evening being spent in
looking over the highlights of
the local chapter as presented in
three scrap books dating back to
1948.
On November 2 a model
meeting was held at Victoria and '
Grey Trust Company- for these
same girls. There were ,fourteen
members and' seven • guests'
present. •
The minutes of the previous
neeig-were adoptedas lead -- '
Each committ ,e,,., chairman
outlined the. duty `of her
particular committee ,for the
benefit of the guests present.
Sue Gower read • the`" rules
pertaining to Leave of Absence
(from the sorority manual).
'Dorothy Feagan, the
vice-president, announced
"Join Party" to be held for the
guests on November 10 at
Shirley Baechler's.
The . Ways and Means
chairman requested that
"tickets on the gift certificate
draw be turned in at • the next
meeting.
Janet Bloch, presented 'the
culturalprogram for the evening.
Janet read a very. interesting,
self -written, mystery story and
neglected to read the ending, .A
number of sorority members
were' then' appointed to play the
roles' of the characters in her
story , and solve the mystery,"
