One of the most interesting aspects of the afternoon- for Ron. thaw and me was the questi'or, period at the e'nd Of' the afternoon. We asked six questions of our group and waited ,for a deluge Of answ"ers. Those questions and their answers (at least most of. them) are printed here so that other Signal -Star readers an compare' thei•r'feelings with the feelings of fhose who attended our semirtar WHAT --- DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE SIGNAL—STAR? . The list was long, a reassuring finding. Most peoplehliked, the increased number of,pictures the Signal -Star is', using now especially the pictures of the 'children. The reorganization of the Signal -Star into special departments — women's, sports, 'editorial,, farm etc. — was mentioned as a much appreciated feature. ,• 'The Letters to the Editor column'sv were comrne-nded as was the, women's page column Woman to Woman — although there were some present who heartily disagreed with some of • the sentiments expressed in that column • from time to time. The're were also favorable comments about Martha Rathburn's column. The Bulletin Board was praised as an improvement over. the' former Comirig Events advertisements which were at 'one time included with the classified ads. WI -IAT DON'T YOU LIKE ABOUT. THE SIGNAL ---STAR? ` —The -poor poor grammar and the spelling mistakes - were ' two things most of our - guests abhorred.. Some others mentioned the fact that in some instances, ,picture pages tended io become" -too repetitious. ' WHAT-WOWLD,,YOU LIKE TO SF F 'I N SIGNAL—STAR? There was a variety of answers to this question. Some people felt there should be more personal news , (who visited wild etc.) while some &hers felt a column introducing 'newcomers to Goderich would be most informative since' , Gcsderich's population seems to move in and out regularly. More original poetry was requested as was an- annual list all the clubs and groups' in oderich which "residents may join. A new column entitled' What .Does Goderich Need? would be welcomed, some thought...and' there was even an offer from one participant to write the first one! More farm news was suggested, too, as was more news from Goderich District Collegiate Institute. WHAT WOULD YOU TAKE OUT OF 'THE SIGNAi STAR? There was ' only one suggestion made here...and it answers wasn't even considered because ',it ..conflicted with the previous seg'inenC. What .was it? The suggestion was to remove- all personal news (who visited, wjao etc.) from the newspaper. The remaining, two questions.. - liow can we serve s7du better? and • Flow can you help us'? — netted some ideas' but. all of them were of a technical nature.
